Love the current showcase subject - "Historical figures", wide choices are available. Thank you very much. |

I think the showcase needs a serious clean out as the first page is mostly filled with pics that have nothing to do with the subject. |

True funny how many people have used mythological figures as historical still I am sure Rachel will sieve through the entries with the usual efficiency. |

I saw "fabric" suggested and I like that but I think it may be expanded more to "arts and crafts" so that things like macrame, baskets, tools of the trade, etc. could be added to fabrics. Just a bad suggestion. |

Oh gremmy, there are no 'bad' suggestions. Even the ones that aren't really feasible have merit. |

Could someone please take a few moments to clarify things for me about Showcase and Top 5. Being new, I figured out comments, the forum, and voting, but the two I can't figure out are Showcase (how is that determined -- the topic, I mean-- and who monitors it? I see so many non-Historic pieces in the showcase that I can understand why they are there.) and Top 5 ( who selects the artwork that goes into Top 5? Does the vote or number of comments have and influence on getting into Top 5?). I really love TD and appreciate what great work people can do with the palettes given. In some I wish I could slightly blur the element or tilt it slightly left or right, but that is part of the challenge of each palette. I've met some great people as well just through comments and comments under painting. Thanks all of you and TD as well. |

Hey gremmy. The showcase topic is decided by the host of the site Rachel but she takes them from the suggestions made on this thread. She and the others who maintain ThinkDraw also monitor it and do their best to remove the pic's that don't belong there. I believe they are quite busy so it sometimes takes a bit for innapropriate pics to be removed but they're pretty good at it. |

Getting back to the suggestion of "Showcase Themes" may I suggest another go at the ' Black and White ' showcase now that "FACES" has been re-instated. |

I like the idea, steve. Many black & white drawings in recent months have raised the bar. |

I still think the Black & White showcase (reloaded) would be good especially now that (FACES) has been re-instated. Theme it: how about film noire! For instance. Black & White limits the colour pallet but adds tonal light & dark, shadows with highlights, glints. What do you think sounds good? If you like this idea suggestion then add your say and watch it happen! |
