Someone just went through my entire gallery and gave me a four on every single picture with more than 9 votes. My Highest Rated pics are now old stuff and cartoons. WHAT is going on around here?

I know what you mean!I'm glad that im not good enough to be a victim. . .yet. I dont really get why someone would do that. . . i mean yeah, they want to get your rating down, but HONESTLY!

Oh I hope that does not happen to me...

I sympathise, ron. It happenned to many of my drawings, just before the end of January. Don't worry about it. We all know how good you are.

I wonder if it can be set up so that everyone's post can be tracked to who voted and what they voted.

I am sure it could but the problem would be ... holding grudges... if someone's vote was the one that held you down I mean...

Do we have a "who dun it"? I was thinking earlier and it has just been suggested by DMarla about a tracer of sorts.

You know, I'm with Matthew on this one, I DON'T CARE! That's not to say I don't think it stinks but it certainly doesn't make you less talented and only makes them more hateful. Now as for a tracker.... I only see pay backs and more hating in our future.
I should also state that I look forward more to comments on my work and couldn't tell you my rating without looking it up and that I only rate pictures I can give a five to. Perhaps my opinion is moot, but as it is freely given...

Just got updated on Matthew's opinion and apparrently he does care now. Just wanted to clarify, I don't care where my drawings are concerned and for those of you who do, I feel bad that this sort of thing goes on. It certainly is a sad thing when people are so nasty to each other.

The comments show who they are from; it's not much different to show who the ratings are from. It would help with the anonymous damage, if people had to take responsibility for their votes.

I've mentioned this on another forum, but tracking people's votes doesn't have to be public. But if someone complains, TD could look at the history and see if there is a bad pattern to a person's voting record and then remove the priviledge. This would remove the grudge factor, but add a little fear of accountability. It might take a little extra effort at first, but once it was enforced, I think it would pretty much stop.

I agree with Candr and Luna. I do know who is doing it and I just got a low vote again. Usually when person does this kind of thing they are so obvious. I think if this continues action should follow.

The person that is doing this, I'm pretty sure, I have been voting for just the same and it has been 5 star marks each time. I will no longer vote for this person's work so that person's vote goes up and ours down. That just would not make sense.

14. 6 Feb 2009 10:34

DMarla

That should of read that usually someone like this isn't so obvious.

I'm tempted to say, in fact I will say, you should have to enter your name or something when you vote. Then enter 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. People do things when they know they can get away with it, maybe something like this will stop it?

P.S. Oops! Just noticed DMarla has already suggested that. Then, let me second it.

I think we just need a few moderators nothing more... (each with access to see who voted that day)

If we had to enter our e-mail address to vote that would do the trick I think. I have autofill so my e-mail fills a blank with just a touch of a button. I just got votes for most of my older pictures as well, I may of been foured across the board as well.

Actually it should not be that hard...to record who is voting.

It is like a comment...

So instead of just having the vote recorded you add in another function that takes the user name and sends it to where ever this data is stored...

(I don't really know what I am talking about... since I have never ran a site like this... though I will want to try something very very simple like this...)

(My mom and dad want me to learn more so I can program/code their new business' website...)

I now only have one picture left with a 5.0 rating (not one I'd've given a 5) and my remaining 16 pictures range between the 4.97 and 4.3 ranges. I think this is actually pretty good and, if people voted with real scores instead of only 5.0, I would have been really pleased to achieve that level of recognition from my peers. It does seem obvious, however, that these results aren't generally average 4's and 5's but as a result of occasional 1's. This is fine if the person(s?) really thinks my pictures are that bad and feel compelled to express their outrage in a public low score, however if it's just so they can achieve a high position in the rankings they really need to get a life - I'm sure they must be a joy to live with.

Conspiracy theory No.1: It could be the Think Draw team just winding us up for a laugh!!! - only joking, I'm sure they wouldn't do that.......or would they? No, I'm really, really joking......or am I?

This is how conspiracy theories start - lol
