Ok, St. Patrick’s Day is around the corner and spring is on the way. After a trip to Ireland a few years ago I became obsessed with all things Irish, so this challenge is to draw anything Irish, which can include so many things from Celtic knots to leprechauns to beautiful Irish landscapes, wildflowers, people or thatched roof houses – the list is endless.
To begin, here is a three leafed clover copied from a photograph I took of the image that was about six feet tall and painted on the side of a pub. The picture hangs on my wall. Legend credits Patrick with teaching the Irish about the concept of the Trinity by showing people the shamrock, a 3-leaved clover, using it to highlight the Christian belief of 'three divine persons in the one God'.

The challenge will end on March 16th and I will pass the baton on the 17th, conveniently St. Patrick’s Day. Have fun.

By mecanc – This is so nice I can’t resist putting it here, but she needs to tell me if she wants to be included in the competition.

This is an oldie, so not in the competition. I just had to wave a flag to my neighbours and to my father's roots.

These were so common in Ireland. They may be where you are too, but I don't see them much here for some reason.
