what about a challenge in non-English Language?
I love the idea of think write, but I'm not so skilled in English to join the challenge. Is it allowed, and is anyone interested, to do challenges in Italian language?

mi piace l'idea delle sfide di parole, ma vorrei sapere se si può / si ha voglia di farne in Italiano. Che ne dite?

My Italian is super basic. I couldn't do it... but it's a nice idea clorophilla. Go ahead.

My Italian consists of a few stock phrases but I'm sure you'll find a few Italian speaking TDers for your challenge ... and it only takes a few to make it a success.

In the unlikely event of it failing, rest assured we understand your English.

well....I couldn't face an Italian ThinkWrite either, but you should ask Danila and Franca . If they are interested you would have a good start and I'm sure that I'd enjoy reading at least. It's a good exercise.

Erm....this topic should've been in the Community Forum, hopefully TD will shift it there.
Polenta, how about a Spanish TW? That I'm sure I could manage...well with some grammar mistakes, but anyway .

Both of those, plus French, German, any of the unholy trio Swedish/Norwegian/Danish would be wonderful... not that I could converse, mind you! ...but a daily dose of those to try reading = relatively painless "learning by immersion"

We outlanders would be welcome to try inputting appropriate drawings, wouldn't we?

Thanks Shanley for your proposal but I'm not very much into writing, never have been. Apart from that , and I'm sure you and everybody else will understand, I'm a native Spanish speaker and native speakers of any language are SO DEMANDING!!!! You know, when you dream in your mother tongue, you say you love someone in your mother tongue, when you went to school and learned everything in your mother tongue. BUT I CAN CHAT OR EXCHANGE MESSAGES IN SPANISH.
When I see some cable Miami TV shows in Spanish where pseudo-Spanish speakers with a basic vocabulary of 1,000 words and dozens of mistakes
I (or better we) can't believe these people could be called Spanish speakers. Of course, this is better than nothing but.................
That's why I thank everybody on TD for putting up with my foreign English. Thanks guys!!!!

Shanley. I once heard a Romanian say that your language is very much like Spanish... of course he had lived in Uruguay for decades..... but naturally Romanian is a romance language so .... who knows? I might understand some words if exposed to it. LOL
By the way, this Romanian who is now dead knew Hungarian and I never understood if Hungarian is spoken in Romania too.

Anche se non parlate molto italiano, capite questo che scrivo?

Io non parlo Italiano!
Out of a whim I decided to start learning Italian about two months ago, though I haven't gotten far at all. I would love to read it, and try to pick out the words I know. Grazie clorophilla!

Qui noi abbiamo la RAI e io vedo programmi come PORTA A PORTA frequentemente. Non capisco tutto, ma capisco qualcosa, magari il 50%. E vero che il giornalista e il figlio de Mussolini? Ho ascoltato questo.

Shanley,
How do you say what you have just written to Clorophila in Romanian. Since they say it's so similar to other romance languages, I would like to know if it's understandable. I'm curious.

Polenta. in Romanian that would be: cateva jocuri simple...imi place ideea. cred ca toti vrem sa stim mai multe!
Polenta, if you want to try readin in Romanian, I suggest you try wikipedia translation .This way you can compare .
