a4e4ka you must be very tired, as far as I can recall Leonardo did no painting in the Sistine Chapel. My buddy Mikey did the ceiing and the wall behind the altar. Ralph did some neat tapestries but they were looted years ago

I really would not mind if EVERYONE would just vote on every single picture what they thought... but it would have to be done all the previous pictures....

I know I have worse pictures which were never voted down... (and some I almost would not mind being voted down... *looks at the three that have a 3 vote from herself* ...) it is really the fact that the ones that might make it are voted down that erks me thats all....

I mean if someone voted a 1 on my word "panda" ... I would almost agree... I did that as a reminder for myself later (the panda drawing is the one I am working on now and most likely won't be done this month because I don't put much time into it any more) ...

I try to look at the comments... and feel fulfilled by them and usually I am until I go back to looking at my profile and see that the few pictures I would like to be on the top some how have fallen from my higher ranked pictures....


I guess I take that one vote as a comment that screams "horrible" and I can't get that from my mind... until I do... it means TD fades into the background for a while again.

(Too bad I forgot to vote my own picture down... I just was too stubborn to do so ... now that I have learned from being stubborn... I'll most likely give myself a 1 from now on... that way ... it is me who is saying it is horrible rather then others... since someone wants to say that for the pictures that take days... ....but really should I have to do that?)


And Matthew I applaud you for not caring any more.... your pieces still are amazing

The 'not caring' is acceptance that it is going to happen, at least until the system is changed. I think it is unlikely that change will come before the end of this month, after 'Top 5' for May is presented. Change may then come in stages but, whatever happens, let's be patient. We all know which of our own drawings are good and which are mediocre ... the fact that the better ones get booted down the line is a compliment in a way. It's a sign that it's seen as a threat to those who are desperate to be in the forefront.

Yes Baldur, I was tired. And I kept thinking of Qsilv's pic, that's why I wrote nonsense. I know who did the chapel. Sorry again. Probably should have kept going with my drawings instead of trying to change the mood of the gifted people who are giving up the joy for... what?
Yesterday - 5 of my pics were on page 1. It tells me not that I am a great artist, but that that the better ones are sitting in shadows crying for themselves. I am glad that many of you are still drawing and do not go with the crowd because the joy is more important to you than the ambitions. I started a month ago and in less than oneweek I new some artists who can surprise me and whom I can learn from. I can always look up for their names and so can everyone else. And comment. And vote. And respect.

I don't quite understand the "drama" this has caused again and i do apologize because i "started it" with this thread. I for one will continue to draw, and i do care about what other people think. I like votes, but its not the end of the world. I will post comments on piks that strike a chord in my heart. As i said before this is "art therapy" for me. I'll keep up with the discussions as best i can, but for me its "creating" not a "rating".

I'm sort of new to the site. I started my account last year, but I only played around with it a little and then took a long leave of abscence. So when I finally got active a few weeks ago, I didn't really understand this business of artists being voted down. Then I took a look at the showcase today and it immediately caught my attention that Leonardo wasn't there anymore. It's ridiculous. That picture is brilliant. But it's brilliant no matter what the rating is. I think from now on...or until a solution comes to light...I'm just going to vote my own pictures down. As soon as I submit a drawing, I'm going to give it a one star. I just love creating pictures as well as the positive feed back I get from everyone. I don't care what the rating is. And if one of my pictures is Top 5 worthy, I don't want it to be there if artists far more talented than myself are getting the proverbial shaft.

Thank god for the comment section. If we had to rely on a "rating" there'd be total chaos, well, er, you know what i mean. At least we can still give positive feedback thru the "comments" and noone can take that away!!!! Maybe next up is a rating on comments and if you don't like someone's positive comment to people whom you despise you can send there comment "to the moon!!!". You get the idea. Are we up to 227 comments yet on this thread? I think we call it quits after that.

My drawings are getting voted down even though a current drawing of mine isn't up to click on, so you don't even have to be active on here to be effected. I come here daily to vote my 5 votes and appreciate what everyone has done and that's pretty much it. Until the voting system changes to promote a more healthy environment that's as active as I plan to be, if that. The way it is now we are left to think things that may or may not be true about others.
