Now for my 2 cents worth! Last night there was a picture of her on TV. She had highlights in her hair, her brows were shaped and she had on rimless glasses, a leather jacket with a burberry scarf, she looked very nice! I don't she'll let them do too too much. Do you?

On my post, A gift to you, I posted links so anyone can catch up on Susan Boyle. I think the media is making a lot of her looks and changes because the media knows they have power and they want to sway people to what to think about her.

As for me I don't have a good memory or listening ear so music doesn't come easy to me. Because of this I have a interest in music for those reasons, kind of different for sure! I have taken lessons in these instruments: flute - I got no where because I don't have good lungs, it had nothing to do with my low music ability. The violin - I took 8 months of lessens and got pretty good for my limitations but taught by screaming at me and wondered why I stopped. My neighbor downstairs said she missed my violin playing when I stopped. I took mandolin lessens not long ago. My teacher was a dishonest old man with a terrible personality to match, I couldn't take him more than a few lessons he was that hard to take. I met another of his student that left him for the same reasons. The flute belonged to my teacher so I never bought one but I bought a violin which I paid a lot for. The mandolin I got for free. I am very attracted to the keyboard but being very dyslexic, trouble using both hands and using my left hand only for many things when I am right handed for others, I don't think I could get that far learning to play. I've been thinking, wondering, when I get to heaven if my music frustrations, if they will be put to rest, and maybe I will be able to play all the instruments I want. My pick would be the violin, flute, piano, and many of the unusual instruments that we may or may not of seen around. It is the unusual that I am very attracted to.

I used to play electric bass guitar! Had a bass and amp. Just for a while.

Zeppelinator, one of the songs I learned when taking lessons was "Good Times, Bad Times", lol. I told the teacher I wanted to learn Led Zeppelin and Flaming Lips, haha. My Flaming Lips song was "Prescription: Love" from "Oh My Gawd!!!" a great album. He also made me learn "Boys Don't Cry" by The Cure, but I didn't choose that song.

I play a very limited amount of piano, and am taking unofficial lessons on the violin. Definitely love the violin and how it laughs, or cries!

not bad, you had enlighted this intereszting thread.
I play guitar quite well (and sing); a bit also mouth organ. I used also to play the jew's harp" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jew's_harp, an interesting and very ancient instrument. Amazingly, I read on wiki that is originay of Asia, although in Italy it's known as "Scacciapensieri" (chasing-worries-away) and believed to be original born in ancient Sardinia.

I would like so much to own a violin and learn to play it...

Normal

Had piano lessons from age 10 to 15 and always enjoyed playing for myself. I mainly sing in the car where I can bellow without dismaying other folks. Bought my own retread piano for $1000 during divorced poverty, hoping to interest kid, who responded only to guitar. (It's still with me after various travels, including back & forth across the Atlantic.)
Had a $40 guitar and "teach yourself" book when she was a tiny tot, interested in folk. Great Theo Bikel quote: "Any fool can learn to play the guitar. Few can play it well." Amen.

My FAVORITE instrament is the clairinet i even play it in band. I was in a solo and ensomble compition and got a pefect score also i was the only 6th graader to enter. Although other 6th graders entered, the compition was after the tornado out break so all the other kids had to dropout.
