Dragon! You're so humble, I bet you could put those guys to shame with your armpit!!!!

How's that go? I bet you can play solo - so low they can't hear you!

Well I can sing alright and make clicking sounds with my tongue, so maybe I'd be considered a one-man band (or one-woman band as the case may be).

KM, the contestant you refer to in Britain's Got Talent was outstanding ... and what courage. I can't remember her name at the moment ... but I'm sure I will know it well by the end of the series. Good luck to her ... she has age against her but I'm willing her to succeed.

She might be 47! I'm sure she has many miles left on her voice. She had one on youtube.com that was found, "Cry Me a River", she'd wow them on that one too. She could do very well. She took care of her mom and never had anything, I hope it happens now! I thought I read where she's going to record or has recorded something.

Well I'm sure Simon and the rest will make sure she gets it all! She deserves it! Somewhere on the forum there was talk of inner beauty, and God has blessed this woman with not only a voice, but beauty from within!

I play Guitar, Electric (Les Paul, and a Black Beauty) Acoustic(several) Electric/Acoustic Mandolin. Drums, altlhough I hesitate to mention that..lol. I can keep a beat and copy live performances, but it comes naturally and am self taught on all. so often I don't hit the fills correctly I also sing.

I play all kinds of music, from Led Zeppelin to Johnny Cash to obscure songs, and I have to admit I love the 80's, but play very few songs from that time, due to synthesizers. I have a piano and casio keyboards, but still no help..lol.

When I said Susan Boyle has age against her, I didn't mean in her voice. When it comes to the public vote, youth and beauty usually wins ... with a few exceptions. I wish her all the luck in the world beacause I want to hear more of her.

I know what you meant, that's sad! I thought the "young" audience and the judges were a tad on the rude side. She had class up there, she never batted an eye. She had that "I'll show you" determination!

I meant to say, they were a tad "rude" until she started singing!

Yes, they were but didn't they get a shock ... she floored them and then they applauded while she was singing. Even that didn't throw her ... she saw it through to the end. She was magnificent.

I was also impressed, I love music of all sorts from opera to heavy metal and rap the to show tunes, but I hate "reality" TV. I had her performance e-mailed to me and watched it. WOW. I'd buy it!

As for my favorite instrument, I love the violin or the fiddle (frets or not). It's such a versatile instrument, it can make you want to cry or dance or send goosebumps up your arms...For me, no other instrument compares.

I love to listen to brass bands, especially the old big band kind of stuff and I too love to hear the bagpipes played.

My mother's maiden name was Fender and it was a great uncle of her's that brought about the Fender Guitar and worked out the reverb problems in the amps. For myself, as far as the guitar goes, I prefer the accustic. Though I could listen to Steve Vai all day long.

Would you believe it! According to todays newspapers, Susan Boyle has had a non-surgical makeover and 'outraged' the judges who, allegedly, had vowed not to try to change her.

Yes but what news paper? And is it confirmed?

Also, just my opinion but she's not terrible to look at, a make-over would surely go to the good but please don't tell me she's having "work" done.

I mean in the first video she was wearing dark stockings with an ivory colored dress, so that sort of thing could be helped. Too, a new hair style makes us all feel better (if it's a good one), and when we feel better we often do better, so where's the harm?

She's not having any surgery, she just got a haircut and some new clothes and got her brows lightened. I don't know what the big deal is.

I'll tell you what the big deal is, People Are Crazy! Like it's anyone’s business if she gets her hair cut.

I was a stylist back when I could stand all day and not get homicidal and do you know, to this day, if one of my friends or even just someone I kinda know is looking a little funky, I'll hint around at a new look (sometimes I get rather adamant about it).

She was seen by thousands (millions?) of people, I have no doubt someone kindly said, “Hey, I’d love to give you a make-over, what do you think?” And why not, you’re getting worldwide attention, which would certainly make me think about an updated look!

I agree with you wholeheartedly. The makeover is non-surgical so she's not changed anything, really. It's the tabloids making money on something that is no big deal.
