I hear tell that there is now an 'Elite' group of 16 or so ThinkDraw members. Anyone know how to get on the list?
Did they appoint themselves or was it by public acclamation?
Sounds pretty arrogant in a way.

Basically I wondering what the percs that go along with that status might be.
Some possibilities are:
Preferentially treatment when submitting pictures
Personal titles that the non-elite must use in addressing us
and my favorite: extra voting privileges

Do any of my radio audience have any other possible benefits to add that I might be missing?

If the Elite get a sash and tiara I am definitely going for it

matthew must be part of this elite but oddly he hasn't mentioned it to me.
I suspect he's trying to keep me from becomiong part of it.

Here's another great link from YouTube. This one is a video taken by a drunken artist as he wanders aimlessly around a hotel in Budapest, obviously lost.

Baldur

"Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence

"Fools", said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed
In the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls"
And whispered in the sounds of silence'

Those were the Primrose Mute Singers doing their rendition of the classic hit by Simon & Garfunkel hit, 'The Sound of Silence'.

Baldur, I too have heard of this elite group, though I could not figure out who they were, why they were elite, and why exactly their eliteness was offensive (if indeed it was, I found the whole thing very vague and confusing)
I'm not entirely sure I want to be elite, though if it includes sashes and tiaras you can count me in. (Not that I particularily enjot wearing sashes and tiaras but I would definitly enjoy seeing some of the others wearing them)
PS - I loved your fairy tale of the Pretty Princess. I do so love an unusual ending and I definitly didn't see that one coming. I also feel for you in your family struggles (I must say you seem like the only one acting like a grown up and kudos to you for your grace and dignity).
PPS - The all mute rendition of Sound of Silence. Well played my friend!

Thank you for that slew of compliments Dragon. That entire family drama sprang up as I was dreading the onset of Mother's Day.
Indeed it was atrocious. I was reminded of my poor treatment of my sisters, by my steadfast refusal to spend the entire holiday with them.
Mother was correct, I do rarely see them. Somehow the regret for this heinous action has not registered with me yet.

That type of Faerie Tale appeals to me as well, but then I am also the type of father who intentionally got the details of each holiday wrong for my children just so they could be entertained.
We would sometimes color eggs for Halloween, decorate a St Patrick's tree or my children would find large plastic fish filled with candy under the coffeetable on Easter.
Ashleigh's (my daughter) favorite holiday was St Massacre's Day, always celebrated on the 14th of February. On this holiday one must only wear black clothing, the appropriate gift is cheese. Cheese also should appear at each meal.

I'm glad you enjoyed the Primrose Mute Singers (PMS). Talent is scarce in these parts.

Baldur, have you looked into the Think Write threads?

You really should, you've a talent for writing and a great imagination.

I've found it to be quite cathartic...

237. 11 May 2009 15:40

Which is definitely preferable to being lethargic. LOL.
I've poked around those threads, they are rather interesting.

I believe you are so talented you could do both.

Did you see, I'm so talented I can draw a nude and then dress her; multi-tasking, learn it use it!

Also there is always "Guest Hosts", think David Letterman.
