I fall under two incorrect stereotypes that annoy me, so looking for other peoples stories and stereotypes they can confirm false.

Here are my two:

California Girl,
This is a rediculous stereotype and let me say the points of the stereotype,

1. Not many people are blonde unless you count bottle blondes and their still aren't many.
2. No one lives on the beach, California is huge, and most people I know go to the beach like 3-10 times a YEAR.
3. There absolutely are not celebrites all over the place, they are in Hollywood and L.A which is very very far south in California, from SF it would take about 7-9 hours to drive.
4. Not everyone is Tan.
5. From most places in CA you can't see the ocean.
6. The beaches aren't that popular except a select few. Yet again, 3-10 times a YEAR.

My Second stereotype,

Dumb Blonde, Very offensive, stupid idea, not all blondes are pretty, not all blondes are stupid, you can be pretty and smart.

Hello Brigsis - I would say you feel a little Blond-Blue today. I think you are pretty and smart enough to let go of this ANNOYING thing. On the other side of the Globe we do think California is all the things you mentioned. Thanks for your enlightenment. Maybe I,m stupid but not stereotype, so forgive me for spoiling your thread. Music-spaghetti-sun-sea-love-do nothing- and it could be worse: thieves, mafia ecc ecc

MEN: red striped T-shirt, olive skin, short, black hair, moustached, heavy southern accent...

WOMEN: beautiful, buxom, black hair, black brigth eyes, etc...

Pavarotti, Rodolfo Valentino, Sophia Loren, Al Capone, Ferrari, Caruso...

^_^ Clo! I think a lot of our immigrants came from southern Italy, hence the darker colouring etc. I have been to both north and south in Italy, so I see the difference.
One northern Italian woman said that they are like two different countries; different appearance, different mentality, different ways. She thought they should put a border between!

and quite racism also...

I live in ROme, exactly at the center, and we have our stereotype also about "romans". Well, I think when I catch the bus or walk or go in a coffe bar, or at postal office etc, I could meet hundred of people and se no one "roman", but every single race, country, culture, Italian region etc...

ad about south people, if you go there you'll se again people of all the skin, hair etc.
In the south we had Normans also, so there are southern people with pale skin blue eyes and blonde or red hairs.

It's like that here too Clo, all the different races came to California during the gold rush so theres a fantastic amount of diversity!
