I believe, giraffe, that the idea is to continue passing this torch, just doing it on the other site. we'll keep it going, though, one way or the other.

I agree. Just wondering what happens to TW LI.

well, b has to pass the torch first, but my thought is that whoever gets it will start TW LI on the new site.

Morshy, the torch is yours!!! for this story... Well done

Do you see them, with their luminous eyes and their sycophantic tongues? Do you see them, with their nebulous accents, charming with one word, confusing with the next? Do you see them? Because I do. Here, in this room. They stare at my work, hanging on the walls like carcasses at an abattoir. They’re butchers, sizing me up, looking to see where the prime cuts are, and what their cut will be. I see them, and I hear them. They talk of my palette, the colours and composition. They talk of the medium of television, and how my art affects it, and could it be used to advertise anything? A car; a shampoo…erectile dysfunction? They talk of the chivalry of the art, in the gallery on the promenade. And their voices drive splinters of glass through my eyes. I let the champagne flute fall from unfeeling fingers and clutch my head. Their voices are too much.

“Shut up! Shut up! Just shut the fuck up!” I scream, over and over and over until my voice is ragged and broken. One critic turns to another.

“He’s very relevant, you know” they whisper.

Thank you all for the stories, It was a tough decision between 3 and even closer with 2.

Giraffe your were a very close winner of Think-write challenge L. (Fancy Pants) is a great short story.

AS WELL...

Doug, this is the exact reason I almost passed the torch on the "think write " challenge... your stories were great it was hard for me to choose. Almost brought in my own panel of judges. but didn't.

BHughes - Thanks for the honour.

I'm not a fan of the ThinkWrite site. I will start a thread, ThinkWrite Challenge LI, will set the strictures as per previous threads, and will choose a new torchbearer to carry the challenge forward. But after that, I'll be done.

Take care all.

BHughes - I've started a new challenge. Like I said I would. It's on Thinkwrites

I know this is to late, but thought I would post it anyways. it's 125 words.

As though leaping from an artist’s palette, the sunset springs to life, flooding the sky with its luminous colors and brilliant hues, from the softness of the indigo blue to the bright red-pink medium to the chivalrous green who kindly steps aside, allowing other, more confusing colors to file in, all of them promenading proudly across the sky until finally the scene begins to fade, becoming more and more nebulous, before finally all that is left is a tiny accenting streak of pink to advertise what, only moments before, had captured so many admiring looks, but now is but a memory that is completely irrelevant except to cause someone – even just one soul – to remember the wondrous beauty and bring a smile to their face.

sorry for writing here, but I was having a lot of trouble on TW site... I sign in and received the email, but never be able to open the link - it said "page not found".

it take a lot of time to build up the page, and this problem is quite on every page of the site.

anyway, after many attempt I managed to open the page of "finishing the story" and post a story on it. I never was able, yet, to add comments and today the whole page don't build up, and I still can't overview my story nor reply the comments.

instead, i read messages of system errors or simply "impossibile aprire la pagina" (=not possible to open the page) or "the page do not exist"

it's so frustrating!

I can add that I have the same troubles with the feedback pages, that's why I'm writing here!

Hey folks...

I was bored tonight and had stopped in over at thinkwrites. But I thought I'd like to come back over here and see what had become of whatever it was to begin with.

And thanks all.

Sorry to see this thread die. The site is cool and all.

But it's not the same. It segregates art and artists in a clinical, even surgical manner.

I am depleted on ThinkDraw. I've allowed myself to become mean-spiritied and argumentative when I was simply not creative. I got lazy and stopped drawing here. And for all of that I apologize.

I think thinkwrites is a great idea (well - I would wouldn't I?) but I am so, so sad to see this thread die.

Congrats on everyone for everything.

It did take on a life of it's own.

Yay.

Ron, thanks to you for creating a great idea and sharing it with us. We took your idea and ran with it, not always sticking to the 'rules' but enjoying your idea none the less ... and yes, it did take on a life of its own.

The segregation of ThinkDraw and ThinkWrite does leave it somewhat detached but maybe ThinkWrite was becoming too big to remain in the ThinkDraw community forum ... I'm guessing.

If you have any more interesting ideas to share with us, I'm sure you will be made welcome here.

... you're welcome here, with or without any more interesting ideas ... and if you ever have the will to draw again, that will be welcome too.
