I wasn't discrediting the tracing technique, Q. It's just that I haven't learned to use it ... that's why many of my drawings go 'off scale'. I'll make an effort one day, i.e., slow down and plan a drawing.

It's good to see you around ... 'just wish you had more time to draw here.

By the way, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam has just put on a display of his letters, including details of how he planned his paintings: www.vangoghmuseum.com/letters

C -- definitely.
I know, I know, I'm so late and out of it that it needs clarification... 'k, I mean, it's the act of drawing that holds me, brings me joy.

And altho A, getting the idea, feels comforting, for me quite often the idea is created by the drawing as it goes along, and that's a thrill of its own, so, still C.

The comments and votes feel wonderful, usually... pleasant or irritating or amusing, rather like interesting morsels of food at a party.

As for the trace technique, pff... that's just a tool.
