Dragon

I am a movie lover too. I think I'd have a hard time narrowing down to one favorite movie. I enjoy intelligent movies like A Beautiful Mind, action movies like James Bond, and smart comedies like The Matchmaker (little known movie but well worth it to watch). I also like the old classics, loved Breakfast at Tiffanys, Double Indemnity and the original Psycho.

There are a few films that remain in my memory for years after I've seen them:
'Imitation of Life' (the 1959 version with Lana Turner, Sandra Dee, etc.
'The Sting'
'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid'
'Shindler's List'
'Amadeus'
'Kes'
'Rain Man'
'The horse Whisperer'

...to name a few.

I love all sorts of movies- Classics that have been listed-Amadeus, fiddler on the roof, sound of music, Young Frankenstein . I like just about anything with Julie Andrews, Cathy Bates or Jack Nicholson. I love the original Star-wars-(IV,V,VI), a beautiful mind was great, pay it forward. - also I enjoy some movies of my generation- Lord of the rings, Avatar, oceans 11, 12, and 13(I've only seen the remakes with George Clooney), Mama Mia was great.- and then there are the animated- i prefer the hand drawn Disney to the CGI that they switched to a while back- but it seems as though Disney has decided to go back to hand drawn which is a good decision in my opinion.- watched Remember me last night- i liked it

Dragon

The remake of Oceans 11 was better than the original in my opinion. The story for the original one (which featured the Rat Pack) was really quite good but they had random moments of breaking into song and dance and the songs had absolutely nothing to do with story as far as I could tell so I found them rather distracting.
I like that you classed Young Frankenstein in with the classics, great flick. My favorite Mel Brooks has got to be Space Balls, with Robin Hood- Men in Tights coming a close second.
As for Disney I do love the hand drawn ones (most of them anyway) but I will say I have a special place in my heart for The Incredibles. That one just never gets old for me.

Jsp and Login have listed films I have really. I would like to add Benny and Joon (my top favourite) , Bagdad Cafe and Kinky Boots. Girl with a Pearl Earring has somewonderful representations of Dutch paintings but the book is a better story teller.
Who'se looking forward to seeing Made in Dagenham? I went round that factory on a school trip the year that the economics o level was born.

Meant to say really 'enjoyed'.
Also, just seen Eat, Pray, Love and thought the self indulgent lady should pull her socks up! A disappointment.

Baldur

I love anything with Katherine Hepburn in it, have been working my wat through some of the older stuff.
Also the original 'Miracle on 34th Street' is a big favorite of mine. Baldur may need to buy another copy of the DVD because people keep borrowing my discs and taking forever to return them. This movie has been missing from my movie library for too long.

Dragon

Baldur loves anything with Katherine Hepburn, Dragon enjoys just about anything with Audrey Hepburn. Especially loved the original Sabrina with her and Humphrey Bogart, it's fun to watch it back to back with the remake that had Julia Ormond and Harrison Ford and see the differences that come with the decades.
