Thanks for passing the baton to me, jshundo. I have a vague recollection that this has been done before, but I would love to see drawings of your favourite flower. I'll start the ball rolling with an oldie (oldies don't qualify for the baton but they're always welcome):

Well...I always feel sort of 'puzzled' when it cames to flowers (hard to make them more beautiful then they are:) ). Since you mentioned oldies are welcome here from what I call 'my ancient history on TD ':
(Attempt at) rose:

Many of cherry blossoms including this old tree bloom only a week or so every year. So people are taken with this beauty and sensitivity and try to make parties underneath every spring season in Japan.

My FAVOURITE flower?? That's just too hard - there are so many!

Here's one of my favourites. This is Diuris maculata - a native terrestrial orchid which flowers in early spring.

When we purchased our land 12 years ago, it had suffered for many years from overgrazing. There was barely a blade of grass on it. We took all the cattle off and slowly the native grasses came back. About five years after the last cattle were here, we started to see several species of terrestrial orchids coming back! That was very exciting, as these orchids are becoming rare as natural bush gets turned into housing estates and grazing land.

Every year now, we see more and more of these little flowers. They are only small, and you have to look for them in among the grass, but they are so bright and pretty - and best of all, they announce that spring is here!
