Air Rally to South Africa

This rally is in commemoration of the first transcontinental flight from England to South Africa, which took 109 hours over 45 days back in 1920 (also the year the South African Air Force Association (SAAFA) was established).

No, it wasn't done with a biplane (or triplane) but nowadays it's do-able in a mere 9 hours... so, why not add some spice?

It actually took 3 planes to complete the journey (one broke, one crashed) -- two were Vickers Vimy heavy bombers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vickers_Vimy
the 3rd was a DeHavilland DH9 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airco_DH.9

Now, these wings belong to a rare, endangered and little known species from South Africa.... Lepidoptera mythicalus!
