Hello, has anyone had a problem with their work suddenly vanishing or saved drafts refusing to load? ...I've been working since Day 1 of the Movies Showcase on a detailed black & white depiction of Jake & Elwood & finally finished & was about to hit Submit & the thing just vanished!

TD Staff, is there anything that can be done about that? Access an old version of the draft maybe??

Ask Rachel by sending a message through the FEEDBACK column

nod... do ask Rachel if they've got it in their backups... but before it's been submitted that's less likely.

And to answer your question directly, LivelyUp, I'm sorry to tell you yes, we've almost all had this problem at one time or another... in fact we've been petitioning TD to arrange various safe-guards, so we're hugely sympathetic.

You might also check your browsers history... it has occasionally been reported that at least a partial save was possible.

Thanks for your responses & commiserating! Yes, I did try browser history before posting, but no luck. ... I emailed TD through Feedback, no response yet.

...Faces are not my specialty but I was inspired by this community to challenge myself so spent waaayyy too many hours working on the picture -- the "We're on a mission from God!" expression had just emerged!

Maybe there are some problems with saving drafts at the moment...

I've had a problem with a saved draft today... the 'load draft' option appears but when I click on it, it tells me the draft can't be loaded. I have several drafts saved in different themes, and only the one I actually want to continue working on has the problem... the others all work perfectly well!

My husband saved a draft a couple of days ago, and not only lost the draft, but got logged out of TD when he hit the 'Save' button.

I know about emailing Rachel, and am not complaining here.... merely telling everybody so that you can make an informed decision about whether or not to use the 'save draft' option...

Has anyone else had problems in the last few days?

I just had it happen and posted above before I read this. Same problem -- draft cannot be loaded.

may be it could happens when the system is too busy?
I also had this one time, and now when I want to save or load or submit a draw, I try before on another window to open just something, for verifying if the site (and my internet connection) is working well...

Speaking of work disappearing...does anyone know what happened to ArtDillon's work? I have tried to view two of his/her pics (the one from Top5) and got a message 'Picture is unavailable'...Please tell me there's something wrong tehnically and he/she did not delete all that beautiful work!

artdillon appears to have deleted all his/her pics that gained a Top 5 place. Fortunately for us, the Think Draw system retains Top 5 pics, even after they have been deleted by their creator.

AAAGH - It's happened again!! 'Sorry, your draft could not be loaded'!

Soo much time invested!!

Rachel/TD, if you see this, is there any explanation for this? I had saved this and retrieved it quite a few times without any problem, then suddenly it says the 'draft could not be loaded'. Nothing seemed to have changed.... computer fine, TD working fine... just gone!

Please let us know if there is anything we can do ourselves to prevent this happening...

(yes, I have emailed Rachel with the particulars... now waiting with fingers and toes all crossed!)

so sorry mum

If it would happen again, try to close all the windows of TD and then retry to load... just an hypotesis...

I had this advice when I tried (yes I tried to cheap!) to load the same draft on multiple windows - but if it's loaded once, it is no more disposable for another loading. May be sometime happens this kind of mistake?

Thanks polenta for your commiserating, and clorophilla too!

I only had one window open at the time, and TD was the only tab open, so in this case that wasn't the problem.

Believe me, I tried everything to get it back!

.... fingers still crossed! Does anybody know if Rachel (or anybody else on the 'team' - is there a 'team'? - will let you know, somehow, if they can't retrieve your picture or do you just assume after a reasonable period of time, that it is gone forever... and move on?

I don't think I'll be using the 'save draft' function again, at any rate!

ach..... mum, I'm soooo sorry. Seems like the more complicated drawings really are "hostages to fate".

We've never been told about any official team, but once or twice we've had a note from Gideon about something and sort of saying Rachel wasn't available. It's pretty clear by now that they just don't want to get into that with us, so it's most likely a small family project.

I'd give it a full day or two, then write again. Based on my own work-load I'm guessing she gets buried under email daily.

Small comfort, but I lost one myself recently to having nodded off withOUT "saving"... the computer decided to do an update replete with reboot! Maaannn that screen looked empty when I woke up!

Dumb question #17b: Any chance you didn't add or undo a piece before your most recent save-draft?

That action will let you APPEAR to save all right... but then it's gone. No "load draft" option will appear.

AND THERE's NO WARNING... you just have to know about it.

Thanks Q! Sorry about yours, too!

It's silly, I know, but losing that pic has really knocked the wind out of my sails... I had thought it was too hard; that I was never going to be able to do it, but wanted to try anyway...

... about 80% done, all the hard bits finished and I was getting very excited!!

Oh well! I'm sure you've all been there! I've actually lost a few like this, but none that I cared about quite as much as this one...

... and no, not a dumb question... thanks for mentioning it for future reference. In this case, no, that's not it either.... I get the 'Load Draft' option, but it won't do it.

No more complex pics for me for a while!! It'll probably do me good!

Sorry to hear that, mum. Yes, many of us have been there ... and know that horrible sinking feeling ... and the lack of will to draw anything complex. I still have to make myself draw, starting with an idea or some striking photo to represent. Most of the time I abandon my attempts but once in a while I see it through (to the wee small hours in the morning).

Chin up and stick with it ... you're too good an artist to just doodle. I'm looking forward to your next masterpiece.

Sorry again for all the work lost.

There was an occasional problem with the 'Load Draft' function which should be fixed now. Please keep us updated if this is not the case.
