Oh my!
what an exciting challenge... I can just hear the blares of Camelot's trumpets!

And... ahem... 40 in roman numerals is XL and not XXXX!
X = ten
L = fifhteen
XL = ten to fiftheen = 40
LX = fiftheen AND ten = 60

XLI = ten to fiftheen and one = 41 (the next challenge)
and so on
:-)

Its easy to get confused...lol never mind, you know what I meant!

*twinkly grin... we pretty cheerfully mangle everything from languages to numerals to charming little bits of art we squeeze out of strange palettes in postage stamp sizes. It's all good!

fwiw, that XXXX registered just fine as 40 in my sleep-deprived mind! lol... but clorophilla's right (psst ...fifty, tho, no 'h'). I'm a little surprised that Google doesn't just automagically convert these WHILE you're typing "roman numeral 40" etc into the search window -- they do for math formulas.

Looking forward to Camelot, steve --nice theme choice!

and... for roman numerals... I have an edge over you, because I'm born and live in Rome! (but I'm quite a disaster with numbers and English spelling, LOL)!

Love Monty Python, is this the one where the knight keeps getting limbs lopped off and he keeps retorting "Just a scratch, is that all you've got?" or words to that effect. Love the drawing- keep em coming folks!

Time is marching on folks with only 3, YES THREE more days left to enter your picture based on Arthurian Legend, I have produced two for the movie showcase based on the swords in the legend, we have a wonderful Round Table with the Knights placing there swords in the middle, a very good Excalibur produced by pasta, and a whimsical Monty Python excerpt from Monty Python & The Holy Grail, but we need more pictures, so look forward to seeing what's in store and making my decision on the 9th
