When you go to the picture and view it full size just below the Rate and Favorite buttons is a button with a little flag that says Report. When 3 or more people flag it then it's removed from the gallery and won't be shown in the forums but is still visible in the artists own gallery.

TD please note I am an ordinary person on this lovely site and enjoyig myself I can still access this persons page - you need to get RID OF THEM they are not the sort of people we want on here. You need to upgrade your controls to deal with this sort of problem and we need to be able to contact you with far quicker results than 2 Hours. There are many young impressionable folks on this site they do not need to see this rubbish - we are trying to encourage new artists so need more help from you to control bad people. I would not want my grandchildren to be faced with this sort of art!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

spam, when a picture is flagged by several people it only gets removed from the main gallery.
It still remains in the personal gallery of the person who made it.
So, the link will still work, and take the curious to the offensive image

Thanks everyone I know I got very cross and wound up about this as in my naivety (this is the only social website I go on) I did not expect to see this sort of thing on TD although have heard about this happening in other places. I now know how to deal with this should there be another offensive item. And thank you Dragon I have seen what I was missing i.e. the report button.

no telling what experience would have produced this odd effort to communicate (who knows what message), but that experience probably wasn't fun and this communication is more a distress call than anything else probably. So - censor this but let's leave the user alone until another such offense, to see what happens.

hm... this has been discussed earlier, but no harm in explaining it again here, under this specific (attention getting) thread title--

folks, an important issue to consider is the type of website this is.

This is (apparently) not a huge corporate endeavor put out there for profit with memberships, fees, an office full of consultants and "forum moderators"... and even if it were, many of those take the stance that if they impose ANY restrictions then they become legally responsible for controlling ALL content.

(This was all hotly debated by Compuserve back in the early 90's and continued by AOL in the same period though adjusted later. For an opposite approach, consider Neopets - about as "safe" a site as is possible but restrictive to the point that one has to type the phrase "that action which babies do on pacifiers" because the word "suck" will cause your entire post to go poof and utterly disappear.)

We who've been here in TD during its earliest growth have watched its management and agree it functions more like a garden party -- with Rachel as benevolent hostess.

Well-mannered guests behave themselves, showing appreciation for the food and flowers, reasonable indulgence toward the children running around (plus the occasional strange uncle and dotty aunt), and just quietly reporting things that do seem to be getting out of hand.

For the party to go on, it's best not to make problems become a central focus.

TD has grown into an astonishingly creative, supportive, cooperative community.

Qsilv, ty that is such a good explaination. I couldn't come up with what to say but could see where it was going..

I want to say that if I hadn't read this thread I wouldn't have seen either of those pics because the gallery moves so fast..and the pile one made me laugh...I bet I'm not the only one either.

just please don't yell at think draw, they won't give us any new toys....
if something offends you just flag it. when there was trouble before the flag button was the fix from think draw and it works!
