Pooky, apart from a handful of seasoned artists, most of us started off a bit shakily. The more we practised, the easier it became. We are still experimenting and finding new ways of representing what we see. Keep drawing and, in a few weeks, look back at your early drawings and you'll see the difference in your own ability to ThinkDraw.

I most definitely agree with login here! The majority of us started out the same. and those of us who kept at it have watched our abilities flourish and grow. I'm sure that if you draw regularly you'll see your own art develop. I personally enjoy going through the personal galleries of some of our artists just to see the progress.

Splutter!! There are quite a few who would not agree with you ... but let's not talk about it.

I decided to use this thread because I liked the title: TALENT.
I really wanted to use Matthew's thread when he taught us how to improve our drawings but couldn't find it.
Please, isn't this a PERFECT SAMPLE showing shadows and volumes?
I envy so much these people who can use shadows and volumes so well.

It is true practice certainly improves your drawings when I started one of my first drawings was this : http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=83358

Recently I just finished this pictured no 96 : http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=96402

The more you experiment with texture and shades and manipulation of the pieces the more inventive and creative you will get. Enjoy TD it is the best site on the WWW as far as I'm concerned.
