Why is it that people feel the need to put non showcase pics up in the showcase??
I understand that people look there a lot but I spend a fair amount of time in the reg gallery (when I get on at all) and page 4-5 pages every time.
Its true I dont see all the pictures and there are fewer in the showcase section. It just seems a really low brow thing to do to take up showcase space just so your pic get recognized more... if its good people will find it.
From this I submit two ideas.
1) The ability to favorite a person. I know its been mentioned before but it is a really good idea because chances are if you like something a person did ONCE you will like other stuff.
2) A "masterpiece" section. You could submit any pic to the master piece section and IF you receive 20 votes (or some other number to be determined) with in a 24hour time frame then it stayed... also any pic that has received more than 50 total votes would be added to this gallery automatically. --this would require only one vote per IP per pic filtering to be implemented.
And I can hear some of you now. This is just another Top 5 gallery... and in a way it is, however it allows people to submit things directly to a format so they can be separated from drawing like mine and the "average" TD person. I will never get 20+ votes on a pic (really dont want it) but the pics are good enough for me and that is what matters. The average pic will fall off with in 24hrs leaving ONLY those that truly the best .
Other options if you dont like the ~X~ amount of votes thing is a certian number of people have to favorite the pic or something like that.
Yes it can be abused... no idea is perfect... just a thought.
