Here I ask anyone who wants a comment on a specific pic to tell or post the name of the pic you want a comment or vote on here, for pictures only seem to get votes when on the first page of the gallerey or in the top 5 so please tell here if you want a comment and I will try to comment on it Thanks!

I think it's good. It joins landscape and geometry, which I usually like.

OK brigsis ... there was a drawing last month that, as soon as I saw it, I thought it would sail into Top5. I was wrong ... it slipped along the conveyor belt at the wrong time of day and only those, who go looking for treasure, found it.

It was by Chompersaurus and, amazingly, it didn't even make Top 5 New Artists. Tell me what you think:

Login: That was a great pik and it looks like Chomp is gone. You were right about the wrong time or day to submit a pik. I pretty much post daily, but I'm a morning person (bassackwards nightshifter) so mine get lost in the shuffle too. I make it a point to go thru the gallery until i get back to my last pik I drew so I don't miss much. And when the "kids" are on it is insane so I usually do Goth just to wind down from my day (night). If people would take the time to go thru galleries or people's picture gallery they might see something they like. They spend enough time doing their TOP5 piks each month. Throw us peons some crumbs.

great pic discovered by Login. It would be nice to re-discover older pics that didn't get to Top 5 but are worth a revival.

This pic by Five is worth a revival, isn't it?

It certainly is, polenta. Not only is it a great drawing but it is also subtle enough not to offend.

Nowadays, there are so many really talented artists here that Top 5 seems to be totally inadequate.

Shanley

the bad thing about Top5 is that it stops counting good pics at 5 , but even if it wouldn't do so art is a matter of taste and the eye is more receptive to beautiful pics than to interesting.

This forum is...... ummmm?

That's true, Shanley ... but here's one that's both interesting and beautiful. It didn't make Top 5 but it's a lesson in how to make a silk flower arrangement out of a sows ear.

Hi! Just got home from school and came to check my forums! Glad people like this topic, I find it intresting how certain peoples favorite styles probably effect voting to, For I find most people use flowers and the experts love animals but most people use faces the least. So I find that most of the top five face pics are about half as good as the top five flowers pics. (except the first and second ones of the top five mostly). But people should check out my pic" The Footprint " For I found that someond made a handprint the same way and WON the top five and mine has only like 7 votes! Anyway keep on posting!

The hand print you mentioned was from ARW and your footprint doesn't compare. The hand print has a realistic shape of a hand & the print leaves gaps where a true hand might leave them when leaving the print, Including the "lifelines".

For your age, your foot print is wonderful.

You will find, like the hand print of ARW's, that "new ideas" created with these odd pieces we have to work with always will get "bonus" votes. The 2nd and subsequent artist to utilize a new technique will not normally achieve the "Wow factor" that the originator does...

Chinky

Mmhm, mmhm. My "the other hand print" (copy from Arw's) only got 6 votes, but I just made it for fun lol, and to experiment. And, the best top 5 categories isn't always the same. Flowers do tend to be one of the best, but it really depends. Last month, Gothic and Animal were the best categories, this month, I"m pretty sure will be Gothic and Candy based off the past few drawings I've seen. And, there is sort of a strategy to achieving a top 5 pic, but it requires a drawing that will wow at least half of us viewers. (not telling this strategy).
