I was wondering if it would be possible to make group user names (like Geuss the artist and Iamanonymous) incapable of comenting in the forums and on peoples pictures. The people who created these user names and made the passwords public intended them to be used to draw pictures but there always seems to be someone who will take advantage of these public names to be a bully. I know these ones are already incapable of voting and picking favorites, if they were unable to comment then perhaps they'd only be used for the purpose they were intended.

lol... I love simple solutions! Well, ok, Rachel may not think it's that simple... but it's do-able. Please add my vote.

Maybe we should include the names of all multi-user IDs in our request ... trouble is, I can't remember them all.

The three I know of are GuessTheArtistGame, IamAnonymous, and ThinkDrawUS

Umm..
this probably goes against Qsilv's vote, and maybe the rest of you saw this earlier and discounted it.. but what I suggested a bit ago was the following..

I was thinking about the various pleas for an 'anonymous' userid, but what I'd really like would just be a tick-box option to submit a drawing anonymously, in rather the same way that we can tick a box to enter a drawing in the Showcase.

Ideally, it would be possible to 'untick' both boxes, if you wanted to - i.e. you could remove pictures from the Showcase or remove the 'blank user' from your drawing - but the anon. picture would NOT appear in your personal gallery while the box remained ticked.

What this would mean is :

ANYONE could submit an unknown drawing, without having to sign on as someone else

any comments made would always appear under your own userid (so you'd have to be careful about commenting on your own 'unknown' pictures !)

you'd be able to save 'unknown' drawings as a draft, without the risk of someone else logging on and deleting them by mistake

Oh! This is brilliant ..and no it's not at all against my vote.

My wish was just to hamstring anonymous comments.

Marg's "tick-box" suggestion is way more powerful -- and I would LOVE to be able to look at pictures for a few days without knowing for sure who did them!

Sort of a twist from the ever-popular "where in the world is this" to "who did this?"!

This would require a masking of personal user info, and there might be a bit of tricky coding in hiding it from the maker's gallery... hmmm...

Each picture's ID number should still be assigned at the time it's submitted, and remain the same whether it's in "hidden" or "open" state.

Perhaps there could be an anon. gallery. It would be like our own gallery in that people could look it up like a particular artist and look at all the pics there. If the artist decides to make it un-anonymous (+5 for a made up word) it would then move to their own gallery and out of the anon gallery. I would think it would be impossible to make these pics a Favorite until they move to the artist's gallery.

I hope that made sense, I don't think I could hve used the word 'gallery' more often in 1 paragraph!
