Baldur

When did we get the solid red background?
Anyone else see this yet?
We lost the blue shirt too, a step in the right direction.
Thank you Rachel

matthew

I don't have a red background... & what is a blue shirt???

3. 2 Nov 2009 18:40

Baldur

hmmmm
when you submit the drawing the red is gone and the blue shirt returns

4. 2 Nov 2009 18:42

Baldur

I'm referring to the female avatar torso in a light blue shirt.
It's one of the background choices
When I go through the backgrounds that one is gone, but I have a bright solid red background there.
When I submit the picture it reverts back to the blue shirted torso

I still have blue shirt... Red or any color background would be good...

6. 2 Nov 2009 18:45

Baldur

is anybody else getting the red option?

7. 2 Nov 2009 18:46

matthew

Careful, Baldur is seeing red... I think there is a chapter covering that in my book...

Baldur, I think your computer might be possessed. Sheftali sees no difference in the avatar backgrounds.

9. 2 Nov 2009 18:52

Baldur

How can I get it to remained possessed and let me use the background?
It's a bright fire-engine red.

Baldur checked the other backgrounds in the other themes, nothing else has changed.
The red however is still here in Avatar

and the eyeballs are no longer translucent

Baldur, I tested the 'blue shirt' background, right through to it appearing in my gallery (now deleted). There were no changes in colours. The eyes are neither translucent nor bloodshot!

The bubbles are translucent but have black edges.

Baldur

How strange
The background is still red when I open the avatar drawing screen this morning.
That blue shirt background is gone until I submit a drawing, when it appears in the gallery the solid red is gone and the blue shirt is what gets posted

indigo

No red background for me and I still have the blue shirt torso.

Baldur simply has an avatar anomaly

Mr. Baldur is pulling our leg.
But by the way..... when avatars appeared Rachel promised a new medium in two months. Rachel, we are still waiting. We need something new, please!!!!!

This is what Rachel promised in the Forum( Community, New Theme Avatars, comment number 21) She said it would be a couple of months.

Thanks for all the reaction.

Avatars now has a black background (and token shapes in blue and green).

Our apologies to those of you who don't like the remake of this theme. We will take your comments into consideration for the next theme which will be something entirely new. Hope you can be patient, it should be out in the next couple of months.

Finally, there are no plans to remove 'Faces'. It can be accessed from the 'More' section of the drawing page. However, please note it will not feature in the Top 5 for June.

Baldur has mentioned that his computer is a bit ..er... elderly... not to say downright archaic.
I'm thinking the graphics card is letting him know it's on its way out.
Nice of it to offer notice... but then, hey, it's Baldur's....

Baldur

Now Qsilv, my computer is not that archaic.
As long as Baldur remembers to crank it up enough it works rather well.
Admittingly sometimes the toggle switches do get stuck and once the gerbil ran faster than the flywheel could handle. Smoke started coming out of the bellows, it was somewhat of a mess.
