In another thread someone mentioned how much they learned from a picture done today. It got me thinking about how much inspiration I've taken from my fellow artists. I'd like to know how others were as well so I'm starting this thread where we can post the picture that inspired us and the picture we drew from that inspiration.

I was inspired by Pollyesther's Moon and Tide
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=21590
From that inspiration I drew Stargazing on a Moonless Night
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=52563

It was the use of zebra bodies as night sky that captured my imagination and I was pleased with the result of my own.

you brought up a good topic. I began drawing on this site 8 months ago and I couldn't believe how some artists could have drawn those pictures with the given pieces. Many of them were my inspiration but more than anything they all encouraged me to go on trying despite my lack of artistic education and practice. I thank all the excellent artists and all the others who also helped me by saying nice words to me at the beginning... and even now. GOOD TOPIC DRAGON!!!

I agree, very good topic! Polenta you are so creative! You can take a simple subject and create such beautiful pictures. I love seeing what you are going to come up with next, I also love the fact that in addition to english you also title your pictures in your own language.
Im inspired by so many different artist here and all the different syles that you find in the gallery.

This site allows me to practice my English too. Yes, apart from just drawing. Isn't it wonderful? In fact, Spanish is the language I communicate every day. I thought it would be good to title pics in my REAL language. I understand what Nadia and Schnuggie say about Afrikaans.

Belladonnis I thank you for your kind words and if you urge me I would say your nickname reminds me of a PRETTY WOMAN.
Bella means PRETTY.
Donnis has a flavor of Donna in Italian meaning WOMAN.

Did you choose it because of that?

belladonnis

Hey polenta,
My given name is Donna and my dad would call me Belladonnie or Belladonnis so it stuck! My brothers name is Thomas so he got stuck with Tommytoes! I like mine much better!LOL.
I love to hear the Spanish language. I have a very close friend, Juan who was born in Mexico but moved here with his family when he was around 12 and I love to hear him talk in his native Spanish. He has taught me a few words and phrases but I wont say them to any one but him because Im afraid I will say it all wrong!LOL!

Palmasbob's dancing Santa is one year old today. It was the first drawing that made me think 'anything is possible'.

I think that is my favorite Santa pic on ThinkDraw. He really did capture a sense of fun and it makes you want to jump in there and dance with Santa.
