Peasy: I asked Rachel. We'll see if anything happens. If it does the "rotten apples" can blame me. And for those of you who one vote yourselves, so what. Sometimes that might keep you under the radar. No harm, no foul. If Rachel implements my plan it should fix it at least for now!

If it's technically possible, we should remove the number one vote. If it were for my opinion, I would only have one kind of vote: number five. If the system wants to make people vote a one if the voter appreciates it but the art is not so good, etc it's not working, We never see a one in any pic except if it is to vote an excellent pic down. It didn't usually happen to me or I haven't probably noticed it but it happens to many very artistic pics. What happens if the marks we can give are only 4 and 5? Rachel can take notice and publish who these one-voters are.

Just curious. I've read several times about "one vote yourself". Is that really possible - to vote for yourself? If one can vote 1 for him/herself that means he/she can vote 5 as well? How many times? Makes competition a joke.
Some of my pics have been voted down. The very recent one - "Wild West" was voted down within half an hour after submission by the fourth voter, anonimous, of course. I feel sorry for him/her, poor unhappy human being, and proud of myself to be taken for a good artist. No hard feelings, I am having great time here, on TD no matter what! I am learning from the others and enjoying the process and small results of it every single day! Love you all, my teachers, collegues and supporters and wish you improvements and new achievements in your creativity, imagination and skills.

a4e4ka, it is possible to vote for yourself only once, whether it is a 1 or a 5. However, that vote does not count in the final tally of votes to determine Top5, so it's basically an obsolete vote. Not sure of it's purpose at all, really. Some people were voting themselves down back when the showcase was presented in order of who had the highest votes, instead of the current chronological order by date. Back then, a beautiful pic could be instantly sent to the last page of the showcase with one low vote. Meanwhile other pics could rise quicker to the top. There was an actual competetive incentive to low-vote someone. So people who did a pic that they personally did not feel was as good as some of those awesome pics that were sent to the bottom of the list would one-vote themselves to send their own pic to the bottom. They couldn't stand to see their work on the first page of the showcase when they knew there was better work (at least in their own opinion) that had been unfairly taken out of the "competition." Their own vote would indeed send them to the back of the showcase, but at the month-end tally, it is still essentially thrown out. I thought this silliness of "one-voting" had simmered down since they changed the way the showcase is presented, but apparently not. You certainly have the right attitude, though, about being flattered by it, as well as not letting it effect your fun and purpose on the site!

And incidentally, I think all of your work is fantastic! It keeps getting better and better, too, which just amazes me!

Thank you Robin! I like you worsk too. The one animation, for example, made me come back and play many times ( with doggie, Trixie) when I was obset or angry. It made me calm and happy in seconds! And yes, I am doing better than on Day 1 thanks to others. Today I learned how beautiful the sky can be drawn with one single element:

Isn't that amazing?
