Folks... My very first TD image is so buried in my gallery that even I don's see it very often.
This idea may have been done before but I was thinking a neat forum thread would be to showcase our own personal growth on TD.
Show us your very first pic and the date. Then something from the middle. Then your most recent "serious" work.
Maybe a bit of self-examination along the way.
Sounds like an interesting - non-volatile thread. We'll see.

11 Jan 09: "Something"
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=18484
My very first effort. I had found the site via sudoko.com and was just doodling and trying to figure out how to use the interface. Of all people - it was Matthew who made the first comment I ever received. And it was feedback that got me hooked. I still like this guy and cannot bring myself to delete him even when I do major housecleaning.
12 Jan 09: "The Kid"
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=18557
My first serious effort. Hard to believe now it was only my second day on TD. This is where I discovered layering and carpel tunnel syndrome at the same moment.
14 Jan 09: "Take a Trip?"
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=18955
Inspired by a featyred image on Google Images where I had gone looking for inspiration. This was still my first week on TD and I was oh so hooked at this point. Watching the playback I realize this is the piece where I learned mistakes could be fixed as you went along.
16 Jan 09: "Silence"
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=19462
My fisrt real attempt to incorporate the standard Theme Elements with something else. Still one of my favorites. (And OMG - still my very first week on TD. I think I did over 60 pics that first week.)
11 Mar 09: "Not Bothered By It. You?"
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=30284
This one is hard to explain. It started as a doodle and developed into a child. I'd been wanting to try a nude on TD and this happy accident gave me a purely innocent way to do just that. I can happily say I've never once received a negative comment on this piece. And I was waiting for some. Thank God this is a site of enlightened artists and not ultra-conservative freaks.
22 Apr 09: "Organic"
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=37592
My most-commented-on piece. Another happy accident. I had just seen the movie "Seven Pounds" and was in love with a box jellyfish in that movie. I really didn't think I could pull any Jelly off in TD in any Theme but luck led me to flowers and viola.
Since then I've been playing with pattern a lot. The addition of Avatars has led me to some interesting stuff which, in the end, I either didn't submit or have since deleted. These pieces appeal to my own sense of geometry but just aren't that interesting.
I also got fascinated with doing eyes for a bit but never found anything interesting to do with them.
So I'm on TD now for, what, seven months and this is how I've grown.
Ron
PS
I'm truly interested in hearing other people's 'tours' of their own timelines, influences, sideroads, backtracks and progress.

I did this for Matthew, but it's also for Arty, and everyone else who is struggeling or grieving.

July 21/08 This was my very first pic. I’m not terribly impressed by it now but I do keep it around to remind myself how far I’ve come since.
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=5701
Oct 20/08 This one got me into the Top 5 for Oct/08 much to my absolute shock and I remember how ridiculously proud I was of that accomplishment. I showed all my co-workers (who really couldn’t care less but were very polite)
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=26810
Feb 21/09 This was my first attempt at using negative space to create something really interesting. This is still one of my favourites and I love to watch the replay. I also recently realized that it is composed entirely of the same type of piece for the whole thing except the eye.
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=43208
May 28/09 This is my most recent one that I really spent a lot of time on and consider a serious piece. I really love this one and go back to it frequently. I love the way the chick bodies ended up looking like beaten gold which was not planned at all. I was simply looking for something to cover up some bits that needed covering and it was one of those happy finds.
So here I am, over a year after starting and still loving this site. Good idea for a forum thread Ron!

based on some of the talent here i really feel sub par when compared. I however do this because I like it. The art is for me and my alone. If you happen to like it I am ecstatic, if you dont that is okay to, cause like I said... its for me!!
