Thanksgiving of course! Always a good feeling about that holiday --way more'n just the American historic aspect. Food.. family.. harvest... no commercial gift giving per se, just sharing of bounty... it's my fave.

How about mythical creatures for a show case subject? Shown in there own unique world might add an element of difficulty.

I've been AWOL for a couple of years, so just ignore this if it's been done: Famous artists/masterpieces?

It was done as Old Masters two years ago, was pretty well attended and brought out some fabulous stuff...
http://www.thinkdraw.com/showcase.php?showcase=oldMasters
but two years is fairly long here (new members, new palettes arrive, even!)
and as Famous Artists it could encourage studies of more modern pieces.

Hmm..

.. I love the idea of 'Masterpieces', because it doesn't limit you to art.. but I would also really like 'Famous artists' or 'Less famous artists' - I suggest that 'Infamous artists' might cause some problems

may be we could narrow the showcase to a specific age or style, es- ancient art, impressionism, modern etc; or to a specifical art - we had painters, sculpture, may be lithogarphy/graphic/pencil/ink drawing etc?

Ditto the above (LQMC)! The less famous artists showcase sounds intriguing, as does simply masterpieces, and do the lithographs etc. And the specific styles/epochs suggested by C sound best of all... art nouveau (did i spell that right?), Early Renaissance, Gothic, Decadent Cubism (a.k.a. Mild Cubism), abstract expressionisms, not-so-abstract expressionism (German or otherwise) ... I can see some of these (esp German Exp) being beautifully suited to thinkdraw.

Aaahh..

I missed the idea of 'mythical creatures' (from Huntress) - and that could be really good too.. especially shown in their 'own unique world'...

.. although, maybe translated into today's world would be fun !

..but yep, let's have a showcase with dragons, cyclops, minataurs, pixies and mermaids

...and 31 hour days! (pleeease?)

Mythical creatures might work well now (she says, innocently eye-ing BofQ's Chinese horoscope critters in the forum challenges.....) ;>

The bridges showcase has been amazing. How do we follow it?

It was a good one. Sea going vessels.

I suggest something very different. I don't know if it was done in past. But it's be a good topic in Spring. The idea is POETRY. It could be drawing any poem or the poet him/herself. Al lot of possibilities!

I don't have time to comment on individual drawings at the moment, but just had to say that a look at the pictures in this Bridges showcase just blew me away!. Well done, all of you... they're magnificent!

Gotta agree with mum... this showcase has brought out truly wonderful work from SO many TDers, absolutely a joy.

I love mdawrcn's Sea-going Vessels (I'll be rotten at 'em, but hey, that's a challenge!).

Honestly, I hope you'll do Clo's Poetry too. It's quite a broad field, but perhaps people will respond the way they do with music and movies and books?

Just because the bridges pictures looked so good together:

What do you think? Anything else you would like to see printed larger?

I want to suggest a theme too. I was thinking like Amusement parks or something... Like rides or carnival games, or even the food stands! That would be fun, interesting, and challenging right? I think so.

amusement parks, cyrcus and similar... a great idea!
Anyway, I also keep hoping in the Poetry showcase. Who on the heart doesn't know at least one little poem, not even a couple of verses?

If the Poetry showcase come up, I book to do Humpty Dumpty for that is all I know. Eisj, the bridges was difficult, the ships even more so. But I would love to see what the Masters come up with Poetry.
