I was just thinking that this might be a good idea for the next Showcase..

.. it could include everything from the Garden of Eden, the Ark, David & Goliath, hanging gardens of Babylon, Daniel in the lion's den, King Solomon's temple, etc., etc....

BUT.. no saints, gospels, parables or anything like that (they're all New Testament).

Anyone else like the idea ?

It might be a good idea, but I think it could be difficult for some.

I dont think it would be a bad idea... however almost anything that had ANY Christian religious connection from the Egypt show case was negativity voted on.

Religion(of any kind), while is one of the major motivations for art, is a very very sensitive subject and it seems that some visitors are against it.

I for one would participate and enjoy it so i say

+1 for Old Testament!

I am not basing my opinion on religion at all - it's some people are not familiar with the bible and might find it difficult to come up with ideas. As far as religious connections, the vote downs, were deliberate and come about in any case.

Here we have Joseph stripped of his coat of many colors just before being thrown into the pit by his brothers.

How about a "EARTH'S BEGINNINGS" showcase... That would be all inclusive regardless of beliefs...

please KM understand I was not singling out anybody on this. I was simply stating an observation I had made.

A thousand apologies if you thought I was in any way directing my comments at you.

Not at all. I knew someone would mention the religion aspect. I do not take offense like that. I do not take offense at religious pictures, etc. on here. I enjoy them as do others. Please, don't think I was offended. I personally will be a loss as to what to draw! I thought Egypt was hard!!!! Guess I'll have to get the Bible out and start thinking! Guess the research won't hurt me!!!! The Lord's going to be shocked at so many ready their Bibles, they're getting ideas for TD!!!

Hey, KM..

.. you could be right.. but maybe we could follow it with some other ancient book or something like 'Norse mythology' (which would probably suit Baldur !), so that people would look that up next..

I know that Think Draw makes me keep learning about new things all the time !

The 'OT' is used in 3 of the worlds main religions. Maybe make it "OT & other earth beginnings"

I'm willing to give it a try. You want a drawing done to interpret something in the old testament, right?

I'm kind of new to this but..
Not real fond of the "old testament" but will do whatever.
like "earths beginnings". that could take on a lot of possibilities.
Has there ever been an:
-architecture
-"the great outdoors"
-famous faces or places
-tatoo art
-"animals"
-freelance it
just some ideas.
