With the fuss over the mechanics of Top 5, I'm curious if you can specify a GREAT drawing you remember seeing on TD, and why do you think it's great? Is it great for a TD drawing or great in general?

Some TD drawings show a knack for reproduction, some show a knack for capturing likenesses, some reflect a lot of humor, some reflect knack for using the pixel pieces in different, interesting or surprising ways, etc.

What sways you?

Five,

Not sure what my biggest trigger is when it comes to others art...

Anyone who knows me knows that humor in anything is a shoe in for my attention...

Right now I am really big into learning artisting techniques since I have no art training. I was able to understand how to make the different pieces do what I want them to do pretty early on, but my knowledge of art is very lacking so my pics are very limited... I have basicaly made think draw my own personal free art class by watching you, Qsilv, Luna & others... You just have the ability to make my jaw drop so often...

I also very much enjoy watching others grow in ability... Marg, Login & Doug come to mind, but the list of impressive growth is remarkable...

A lot of things could make a picture great not exactly in this order:
1) Artistic value. Sense of balance between colors ,shapes, use of shadows,
etc. I also admire when someone can paint as if with a brush or draw as
with a pencil. Their pics look professional.
2) Simplicity. When with very few pieces people make a meaningful pic. I
remember having seen people using only one piece to represent a bird etc. This indicates great creativity.
3) Originality. When something is innovative, never seen before at least
here, a different technique, the discovery of new shades or colors.
4) Its title. This is something few people pay attention to but it could add
a lot to the drawing as a whole.
5) The philosophical, psychological or socio-cultural value a picture might
have when implying or describing life, ideas or feelings that are well-
known by the observer. (very little seen here)
6) The humor that could be included in the pic and title as a whole. This last
aspect has to do with point number 5 because it has to do with feelings.

These are just some aspects. There could be more but I've written all this
without having time to think twice, just what crossed my mind without deep thinking or preparation.
