I understand quite a lot has been done and that if there are still issues its likely on my end but I'm not likely to be able to afford a new system any time soon so is it possible for me to see just the finished product?

I'd like to vote and comment on peoples drawings but it literally takes five minutes just to vote, if I want to comment its another five minutes and if I even want a closer look and open the thumbnail without any comments or voting I have to wait for the thing to load before I can navigate away from the page.

I know many of our artists are doing layered drawings specifically for animation and I enjoy watching them but it’s a quarter hour of time to see, comment and vote on them for me.

I personally don’t do those kinds of drawings and don’t expect to and see no reason mine should be animated but mine not being animated would not solve this trouble. However if you knew your drawing didn’t need to be animated or your purpose wasn’t to do that type of drawing why not turn off the animation?

Or could the control be on the other end; could the viewer have the option to toggle the animation depending on the type? This makes way more sense to me by the way.
I’d just like to be able to view, vote and comment in less than ten minutes.

Also, and I’m sure I’ve seen questions/comments on this in the past, why can’t we vote and comment at the same time, why to different actions? Can that be fixed that alone would take some of the time off.

Solosater, I am not knowledgeable about computers but, possibly, the memory in your computer is too small and is overloaded. The problem you describe reminded me of something that (a few years ago) slowed up my computer so much that I was almost tearing my hair out ... my son had installed some extra software into my (old) computer and it slowed everything up considerably. He later discovered that the memory was too small for the software he had installed. If you don't have much software on your computer, perhaps you could try deleting old files that you no longer need (especially large ones … photographs and drawings take up a lot of memory space). I am a complete amateur, but there are some very knowledgeable TDers who may have a better idea of what the problem is. Good luck.

I don't have a total solution to this either (it's a problem on one of my computers tho not on the others) but here are two workaround tidbits to consider--

A.-- to see the picture large, even tho it won't load with Playback--

...1- click the Print button under the picture. It will pop up complete (no playback loading involved) in a window by itself.

...2- if you have Firefox you can enlarge the whole page a LOT, in multiple steps, by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking the + key. Ctrl with the - key steps it back down, and Ctrl with the 0 returns it to normal all at once.

B.-- from Macromedia's help files--

If I have display problems with Flash Player, what should I do?

If you have display problems with Flash Player, such as poor picture quality or slow display times, deselect Enable Hardware Acceleration in the Display panel. This should eliminate hardware or driver compatibility problems with Flash Player. Flash Player then uses software to scale and display the content.
How can I display this panel again?

To view the Display panel:

1. Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Macintosh) the application image during playback.
2. From the context menu, select Settings. The Display panel is the first panel shown.

Qsilv, I'm sure that made since to someone for today at least not me, but thanks for the info I'll check back again when I'm not so fuzzy.

Login, I've dumped every unnecessary program, software, etc from my computer and while it did help in other areas not on TD, also, my mother's pc is the same and hers is way newer more memory etc. so I just don't know and as I said a little fuzzy today so right now I just can't care. Thanks to you too for the helpful ideas.

In fact the two of you always seem very nice and helpful and never crazy over the top angry at the world, it’s quite refreshing.

Solo, I had the same problem with my old computer. It finally died, and with my new one, voting and comments are fairly quick. It's frustrating, I know.
