So I noticed that there is no current showcase... any idea why or what the new on will be?

I noticed that they did this last month: at midnight the Halloween one went up for several hours until the new one was posted. Hopefully a new one will show up soon.

I asked a similar question ... but in the wrong forum.
Have we been giving enough (or any) ideas to TD for the next Showcase. I know suggestions are welcomed, by TD's comments on a previous stream.
I have suggested 'Famous Faces' but they are hard to do, other than in animals.
Does anyone have any other ideas? The more suggestions that are made (not to mention 'for's and 'against's) the easier it is for TD to start us off on the next Showcase.

I really liked Matthew's idea for an animation showcase. Those are always fun to watch.

I thought it might be kinda neat to do a money of the world showcase. Kind of like the flags of the world only with different currencies from everywhere.

Movies would be great (yes there's overlap with books, but that's ok)

And yep, I remember a mention of money -- that'd probably do about as well as Flags did, tho' it might be harder as it requires more detail. Some funny spoofs might come with that one, too!

I'm thinking it's a bit too early for "summer" themes per se (likely we'll need that as balm in the real heat of July/August, eh)

It's interesting to see how many pages of entries each theme attracted--

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and thanks too Qsilv for the analysis of the number of pictures in each subject.

There have been loads of brilliant showcase suggestions. They are now scattered throughout the forum but we do our best to keep track!

For now, the showcase is "Water" as suggested by Kugusch.

As for the Animations, it is a great idea, but it may be a bit too wide. There would probably be no clear theme when first looking at the page.

So, with priority given to Matthew's suggestions (as Animations was his idea), can anyone think of an interesting way to narrow it down?
