I'm wondering if the person that is voting people down thinks they have to get top row to get top 5. It doesn't work that way, the first 5 highest votes in a medium gets top 5. You can get lets say 15 votes on a picture and be on the top row in the showcase and not make top 5 if five people have votes higher then you do in that medium. Even if you have 40 votes and 5 people have votes higher then you you would not get top 5. You may say but if I'm in the top row don't I have the highest votes or near that. The showcase isn't the only votes considered there are all the drawing and their votes in the gallery as well. So the showcase has nothing to do with who gets top 5. Those on the top rows tend to get more votes as people want their pick to get the most votes but that's about all top row has to offer since it doesn't pick who gets top 5. I dawned on me that this may be what someone thinks. |

I just want to add that top 5 doesn't mean as much as it did anymore with all the voting down that is taking place. Last time I got in the show case it was with my lesser vote pictures because those with higher points had been voted down/out. So in reality I won with some drawings but they never got in others did instead. I already had many of my better drawings voted down this time around. |

I know what you mean, DM. I no longer get irritated by it ... I've been booted out of sight so many times, it no longer matters. I enjoy browsing through the gallery because there are always little gems in there that slipped through unnoticed. I spend more time in the gallery and in Forum than I spend drawing ... the optimist in me says the voting problem will eventually be sorted out but, in the meantime, I'm just enjoying all the clever stuff that people are still churning out. |

I believe all these low votes will turn to our favor in the end. I think the low votes will just become a count of a vote when a new system is put in place. I have no idea why it is taking so long but I know that changing things on a website takes a long time at times to put in place. |

I've actually noticed that not many people have been terribly concerned with voting lately. I haven't seen a forum thread complaining about voting in a long time, the one's that do have to do with it are ones like this thread which simply comment on what might be going on. |

Both times I got in the showcase it was a surprise. The first time I didn't know there was a showcase and the second time I hadn't checked towards the end to see if I even had a chance. |
