Let's talk censorship... Login said something interesting to me. He said I was human and would read "this"... How correct... And how wrong?

Comments?

Are you saying you read it but you're not human, ron?

I haven't posted anything on Forum for ages, because it just got taken over by some people who are so self-centric that they pervert the whole idea of ThinkDraw.

Ron.. you've been on this site long enough to know that
a) Login is female (not that that matters to me in an artist)
b) if Login said you were human and she was wrong, well it doesn't surprise me (Login has always been way too nice)

Can't you guys just see that we like playing on ThinkDraw and we DON'T want your mental/moral/religious/ethnic worries aired here, unless it's in some 'quiet' zone ? There are other sites that will cater for that, but basically, 90% of the people who come to ThinkDraw just want to draw and have other people look at their pics and encourage them.

The really good earlier artists on TD always spent their time encouraging other artists, giving praise where praise was due and presenting brilliant pictures for the rest of us plebs to sit back and admire - they didn't go into details of how many key strokes it took or what their personal gripe at that point in time was.

This forum has become a personal 'me, me, me' site for too many people - how's about just getting back to the basics and helping people use their talents and ability ?

Baldur

Hello Ron

Channel Baldur was only created because I was bored to tears myself.
I was in the mood to draw and ThinkDraw wasn't posting submissions.
Channeling my inner talk-show host was rather fun for that short amount of time.

Does anyone else find themselves looking at the Forum before they look at the new drawings? That certainly happens here.
There are only so many gingerbread man or face variations that I can take before I lose interest. Because we are a very mixed group we do get every end of the spectrum.
The Forum, I believe, was given to us just so the atheists and religioso, the NeoNazis and the Censors, the dance school divas and rude pre-adolescent boys etc etc etc can mix it up.
The beauty of this is that if you really are one of the people here just to draw pictures you can choose to never even glance at the Forums.
But then we are supposedly all human.

I love you too Ron

Baldur

oh, and I admit to definitely being extremely self-centric, sorry marg

8. 27 Mar 2009 06:24

Qsilv

yup. What Baldur said.

And one of the lovely things about TD having a forum is that it gives such a wide group with often only one single thing in common (the urge to draw using pixel palettes) the chance to explore each other's world's a little.

And I hope I'm a door opener, not a door closer.

oh nuts... minus the bloody apostrophe, not the s.

(toddling off for hot tea and toast...)

marg

hey, sorry Baldur.. I really wasn't referring to you..

('though now I come to think of it, why wasn't I ?? -- I guess because I like your attitude too much)

12. 27 Mar 2009 06:57

matthew

Oh let it be meeeeeeeeee.... I love to be refered to....

...And yes, I too agree... If the forum issues bother you, don't cry on them about them... Go draw your pics & stay in your protected little box...

... Love & Kisses...

Matthew

Baldur

now wait a minute matthew,
you are not more self-centered than I am, don't even try to walk out of here with that Tiara and Sash

Can you imagine? hmmmph

My side view mirrors are adjusted so that I can see myself rather than the traffic; I have argyle socks to coordinate with every outfit, and pocket squares that bring out that peculiar smokey greyish blue of my eyes.

OK - all I meant was that we've come a long way since the original forum days (Baldur's was first, I believe), and I miss the community feeling we had then.

.. and no worries, matthew, now I'll go back in my box

15. 27 Mar 2009 07:59

Baldur

It might just be that we've gotten to know each other enough that we feel comfortable being less polite. I tend to enjoy teasing people after getting to know them.

Communities also change, we've lost old friends and gained new ones. The new ones are never like the old ones, but then the old ones could never be like the new ones either

Matthew! I can't believe you said that ... are you and Ron the only one's allowed out of your box? (see some earlier forum threads where you have both thrown wobblies) I'm not trying to pour oil on troubled waters here, but hypocracy, accompanied by insults is out of order. Now lets settle down again ... I believe Baldur has got it right in what he has just said. Ron, I may be wrong but I think that over the past 10 days, you have been trying to provoke a few sparks, for fun. That's fine, so long as we all understand you.

17. 27 Mar 2009 10:11

Baldur

Login, is that oil that you are pouring on troubled waters combustible?
be careful with that stuff.
All of ThinkDraw could go up!

Lawks a lummy! I Didn't think of that.

wow, I think some just need to re read what they think they read....

I have noticed that most of the time when there is trouble it is simply because someone didn't read the sentence right..

also the written word gets misconstrued, without seeing the wink or little grin people sometimes don't get the humor that was meant.

I know I have stopped myself from adding comments because I was afraid someone wouldn't get it...
