When we go to a page it always give the number of comments; I rather see the vote count. In my opinion this would be especially helpful when viewing the gallery. Does anyone else feel this would be better too?

I have a very strong feeling that change is in the air, Marcella. So many superb drawings get bumped into oblivion and votes are ceasing to serve their purpose, as the system stands now. When the "Comments on this picture" notation appeared, the optimist in me said that it's in preparation for change of system. I'm hoping that it's 'vote/no vote' with 'no comment/no vote' and a rolling (30 day) Top 5. If you're looking for highest number of votes in showcase, they're mostly on pages 1 - 2 and 12 - 14.
There are several deserving drawings lost in the middle, with low votes purely because they were not seen. I'm not referring to my own drawings, but to those that deserved a better deal. I will be disappointed if nothing changes for the better, but I will carry on drawing for the sheer pleasure of it.

I know it can't be helped but many drawings are moved ahead so quickly and some aren't noticed for some time, some people don't go back and glance at them so vote counts are down. Did anyone notice that? Just curious.

I guess I care more for comments than votes. my stuff gets lost pretty quickly anyway, because there is lots better things to see. what I feel have been my best efforts haven't been around very long .. disappointing but not devastating. I sometimes forget to vote when I comment and have to go back to vote. I kind of wish we could comment and vote simultaneously. I think there is so much talent on the site that things go by quickly. that isn't a bad thing because it means we are given lots more imagination and inspiration to draw from. it just means we have to search a little differently, like login said go to the pages behind the 1 votes to find the bumped pics

Yes, I have noticed that the vote counts are down. The counts being down makes me less likely to want to draw because it makes it harder to know what is liked which is of value for anyone that who wants to draw or paint. Some of my highest voted pictures were ones I didn't fuse over as much as the others, that has taught me to just draw and see what happens. If we do away with the voting system we may lose some of this because it may be hard to know what people like by comments alone. I don't know if the voting system can be fixed though, it seems we'd be better without one.

Well, at least it's not my imagination. My goodness, a voting recession. Or would it be depression? How can we ever solve this?! It takes take the wind out of enthusiasm. You work hard on something and get 3 votes. Someone else does something, it's nice but...they get 10 votes. Go figure. Perhaps there's interpretation issues that we might not be seeing, I don't know. There is some beautiful works on here.

P.S. Gonna get real loud about the "Save" and "Load Draft" not working properly. Hours of work lost is not fun. I think I'll start being a squeeky wheel?

I think one reason there are fewer votes lately is because a lot of people are getting discouraged by the whole voting process and are not voting at all. I know that I only leave 5 votes anymore so I don't vote nearly as often anymore.

I'm a squeeky wheel regarding the save and load function, doesn't seem to be any oil around.

Kmk... Make sure you hit the LOAD button ONLY once... Sometimes it is slow loading...

...But Once you hit load once there is nothing to load... So if you hit it a second time before it loads... It will be gone...

...I have no problems with it...

I think alot of the reason the vote count is down is there just isn't enough time in a day.

there are so many new members and so much talent its just not possible for me to vote and comment on as many as I use to..

I miss those people too matthew!

It's possible that the total vote count isn't down, it is just spread out more because there are so many people now. Pictures go by so fast in the gallery that they drop quickly out of sight.
