We're all struggling here with the same limitations. (Namely - the TD themes) |

If I am correct, a traditional method of teaching art students was to set them to work copying the masters. Since I am not in that category, I don't expect to be copied, but anyone would be welcome to do so if so inclined. I have also considered trying to do what some of you have done, but also been hesitant to encroach. Thanks for the idea, Matthew. |

Oops! Sorry Ron, it was YOUR great idea. Thanks, Matthew, for your ready consent. You both have much to teach. |

Permission to copy/interpret/utterly-massacre any of mine's certainly given! |

You have my OK to copy anything I have done. I think this would be the most fun we ever had on here. |

I'm in, as long as proper credit is given. Best of luck attempting to recreate my pieces. Most are not too hard, but some took a while. Just don't make it better than mine, then I might have to vote you down. jk |

most of what I do is shamelessly copying stuff, usually without apology |

Ron, mekeys has already copied my Rocky Mountain High and done a good job of it. I don't have a problem with that ... it's a compliment, but he now has a higher rating than I have. I don't think that was his intention and I wouldn't for a minute grudge him a place in Top 5 ... good luck to him. However, some folks hold that honour in such high esteem that it could cause even more agro than already exists. |

I've taken another look and find that mekeys did not enter his version into Showcase (thank you, mekeys) but even so, if we took up this entertaing idea, it could end up in all out battle. Imagine that I copied Grahame's 'Somewhere Over A Rainbow'. I couldn't do it justice because I'm not that skilled, but just say I had loads of friends and family voting for me and I got a higher rating than he has (this is not a good example ... I don't have that many friends and family) but just imagine that my copy got more votes than his brilliant drawing, (Grahame does not even complain loudly when his drawings are down-voted) I would never have the nerve to copy again ... not even copy a layering technique. |

I already copied Luna’s dove & I pointed this out, I even asked everyone not to vote for it. It is a great idea anotherronism. I don’t mind if anyone copied any of mine & if they did a better job & got higher rates so be it. |

...No Top Five... If You Plagiarize... |

I don't mid at all if someone copies my work, in fact i'd be flattered. and like Nina- if they get better ratings- so be it:) ratings are not why i play on thinkdraw |

You are welcome to try to copy my TD drawings if you are so inclined; if you get Top 5 with the copy, so be it. |

I would be fine with anyone copying my drawings. Matthew did a drawing from one of my paintings and it was wonderful. It made top five. I was flattered. |

I have no problem with anyone recreating my pic's (if anyone is even interested in recreating my pic's). Seems like the sincerest form of flattery! |

great idea1 I said before (the only time I have ever commented in forum) art is to teach and inspire. if my poor attempts inspire someone to create a masterpiece I would be thrilled. we learn and improve from each other... that is at least half the fun. If someone gets a repro into top 5 as dragon said that is the sincerest form of flattery. I would hope that at least that way I would be able to see what someone else did, because often I miss things that fly away too quickly to be seen |

I have been reading the forums for quite a while..But i feel it's OK to chime in on this one,I have only used other peoples drawings to try and expand my own work..When i do a drawing i make sure to never copy exactly so i didn't think would bother anyone.Matthew and Nina and a couple of others have said it was OK with them. Most of the other comments on the forums are way to heavy for me.so i don't intend to get in the fray..I keep all of that stuff to myself.
