I'm wondering if it could be done a real welcome page for TD. I found this for chance:
http://www.thinkdraw.com/about.php

there is a link in the left bottom of each TD page, just after the Copyright text, but is quite invisible... It could be more evident and may be a part of a welcome page, where we could have a pic at random (as in jigsawdoku), and may be some link to useful tools (I think about the "how to" topics in the forum, so difficult to find when needed). It could have also a short text explaining the other functions of the site (forum, top5, showcases) and a direct link to the gallery and the canvas.

What do you think?

Baldur

I agree with you clorophilla.
Baldur was using this site for many months before I found the 'about' page.
There are times that I wonder if I have missed other pages too.

Normal

Eh? About page? Normal has been here nearly three years and never come across it. Of course, as soon as I thought that thought, I saw the link at the bottom of the forum. I certainly agree with Chlorophilla that more explication and welcome would be fantastic.

Hi TD and TD-ers! Even though time is running out of my dictionary lately, I still drop in now and then to check the new toys here and cast votes. I must admit that after almost three years spent around, I do not feel the need of a nicer welcome page, because I am already familiar with TD's evolution. Nevertheless, I subscribe to Clo's idea, because I believe it would make new TD-ers feel more at ease with TD.
Meanwhile, one more big thank you for everything you have done to make us feel welcome here.

Amazing! I too had never noticed the little About link - and I too had wondered why there wasn't a welcome page explaining things to newcomers. For example, what are Mugdot challenges - I never figured them out.
But perhaps that is what TD is about - challenging us to use our brains a bit more!

I was also' buffaloed' by the term "Mugdot' and when I inquired, a memeber told me that once there was a user callled Mugdot. I think you can still find their gallery.

Indeed the mugdot Challenge was originally started by Mugdots2. i provided a link to her profile above.

- back on topic --- i think that a welcome page explaining how things work, the 'rules', etc would be much appreciated by our new users.

Yes... I would love to know about the etc, but what is this you say about rules???

'rules'- as in don't make pictures that are offensive in nature, keep in mind that this is a child friendly site so if you get raunchy you'll get reported.

that sort of thing.- so perhaps guidelines would be a better word.
