Let me get this thread going by recounting an experince I as a teenager had with this fellow named Mike. I was a member of this RR band and this fellow who resembled the puppet Howdy Doody somewhat, wanted to be first guitar, rhythm guitar, lead singer, drummer and manager. In short, he wanted to be almost everything and felt challenged whenever someone else was performing those functions. His eyes would become watery, his breathing shallow and he'd become generally belligerent and morose.

The problem was compounded by the unfortunate fact that he couldn't carry a decent tune, and his voice sounded a biyt sandpaperish. This didn't stop him from choosing to sing the most complex musically-challenging songs available. He'd jump into them with a confidence that was truly admirable while everybody whinced at each flat or sharp note he'd invariably introduce at any given moment. These efforts were accompanied by a pained expression on his face similar to a person experiencing severe constipation and trying to relieve himself at all costs.

Well, to make along story short, his own brother finally managed to distance himself from him and set up a different band. Otherise Mike would have delusionally continued to prevent the group from making any real headway.
I am reminded of this fellow whenever I see a comedy where someone comes out attired with attachements that permit him to be a veritable one-man band. It would have been funny if it hadn't been so annoying at the time.
But now from a safe distance of time I can now see the humor of the situation and laugh about it now and then.
