I'd be perfectly happy with making any past vote count as one 'Yes' vote in the new system. I'd also like it if the favorites button still counted in considering the Top 5.

Thank you so much for making this change TD, with a simple system which gives you the option to either vote or not I will likely start voting again.

I agree with Normal, et al, and prefer an inception date of July first for the new "1 vote=1point " system. It's too hard to change horses in mid-stream. Thanks for taking the time to hear our opinions!

Yes, surely July 1 would be the time to begin... Vote = Point... Favorite = 2 points or 5 points or what ever... you decide.

As far as going back in time to give old pics there equivalent # of votes so that the galleries will be uniform... all votes should count... (kind of a bonus to those who were attacked by the bandit) ...

What has happened?

Nothing yet, Steve. From what we can gather, this wonderful site is hosted by a very small group of generous folk, who have responded to our requests since the site first opened, roughly three years ago. Almost every request we have made over the years has been rewarded. My guess is that this one is very near to happening.

Thanks Login for the very kind explanation, and everyone else for your patience. The changes are taking longer than anticipated but have not been forgotten.

hm....just started using the new rating system. For a while I thought my browser is being unsensitive to my requests, lol. I like the fact it has no yes/no , up/down or like/dislike options. A single "positive" option seems like a good choice. Not sure how intuitive is for the new users (although a short comment appears when running the mouse across them).
I didn't dislike the old system, but thank you anyway for changing it. It was causing too much stress on some good artists and I surely enjoy seeing good works around.
