Ok, folks, welcome to another basic Community Challenge! How'd we get to #80?! And cathyallheart's Mugdots is at 83... it's getting harder and harder to find a theme we haven't already experimented with. BUT... I think I've stumbled into one (and you guys'll correct me if I'm wrong).

When I was doing my color wheels, I found it quite tricky to "see" the underlying shapes. Had to keep re-focusing my mind.

So that's the challenge.... build drawings that include some OVERLAPPING AREAS WHOSE INSIDE COLOR IS DIFFERENT... so the overlapped shapes stand out strongly.

These do not have to be abstract... in fact I think it'd be interesting to see rather realistic approaches with just the odd bits of different color creating an internal mental tension.

As always, these are "challenges", not contests per se. So there are no winners or real rules. Each host gets to totally selfishly pick the next person to perpetrate... er... pass the baton to!

I'll close this one in 10 days, Saturday June 11, midnight TD time, 9pm Pacific, next morning in Europe... (mmm, you in Oz get to figure that out and let us know) ;>

Most of my pics do this to a degree, though often it's subtle, since I purposely shift around the planar focus as I draw.

Clever, that straw... seeing anything thru glass or water is bound to shift the color.

I like the idea of overlapping to get a deeper shading or appearance of another color altogether.

I am submitting a simple and delicate pic for the challenge. My husband and I just celebrated our 26th anniversary and we couldn't be happier!

I thought it would be good idea to use the curtain but my mistake was using the 'Gothic.'

It has been so long since I've done a pic on here, not sure if I remember where the "Draw" link is... But gotta say that this is quite the intriguing challenge... Pretty sure I wont get the time to do a pic any time soon, but when & if I ever do, I will surely visit this...

This really is a challenge, and hanging I was working on a curtain with the transparent pieces in Avatars at the same time you did your curtain. I deleted it.
