Okay, I've thunk beside my Pooh tree, dipped into my Hunny Pot for sustenance and here's what I've thunk:

After going back over a year, the closest challenge I saw to what I thunk under my tree was negative space. So...I challenge you to draw the reverse photo negative or infrared image that occurs after a picture is taken or developed. Yes, some of you may never had taken a picture and had a negative returned with your photos. Hence the infrared addition, which is similar. Only new pictures will be considered. The baton will be passed on April 24th.

So here's one to get you started. I'm lamenting no black background or easy black edge to repeat in Beads...

cathyallheart, you are probably among those who do not know what a negative is because digital cameras are so common place now. When you took a picture with film in a camera, you would receive your pictures and negatives of those pictures if you wanted to may copies. No such thing as just send the print to the store on your computer and pick it up! The negatives were dark where the color in the picture would be light and light where the picture would be dark. So a face may be all dark, but the hair, eyes, mouth, ears, etc would be white or much lighter. Thi s is true for most infrared images, too.

For thermal images (infrared in some cases), the picture that is taken shows the temperature of the subject in the picture. So the middle of a person will be warmer than her hands or feet. If you take a picture of a house, you may see red color near a fireplace or where people are, but lighter colors of yellow and green in cool places and blue in cold places.

Hope that helps.

"may copies" should be "make copies".
