We are quickly creeping up on Dragon's wedding day.
Are there any local Mexican wedding customs that will creep into your ceremony?

It seems your husband should hand you 13 gold coins.
I'd take those any day, marriage or not.

I'd lend you my mantilla, but it suffered some serious tearing in Pamplona.

Now Auntie B can just imagine what everyone is thinking. So, no, it had nothing to do with the running of the bulls. Rather it was a certain Don who got a bit carried away during a carriage ride after dinner.
Ah, what a dinner it was.
The restaurant called 'Josetxo' was charming, and not far from the Plaza del Castillo. Mostly they serve Basque cuisine.
We had the tiniest little braised pigeons, absolute heaven.

Baldur baked 2 of the most luscious pumpkin breads this evening, one is going home with me.
In the past he has added raisins, walnuts and sometimes even chocolate chips to the batter. Tonight however he made them quite plain.

This afternoon he assembled a package for his new Grandson, Kanye.
Baldur had bought too many gifts to carry with him in his luggage. Instead he shipped the gifts via UPS.
I asked him why he included a pound of cornmeal and a pound of pecan halves. He said that he intended to do a bit of cooking while there and wanted to be sure of having the right ingredients on hand.

Certainly if he makes cornbread he will not top the one baked by 'Wyatt' the other day.
When breakfasting with him in New Orleans I was quite surprised that he only stays in places with fully stocked kitchens in the suites.
He whisked together a couple simple ingredients, poured the batter into a sizzling hot cast iron skillet, and popped it into the oven.
By the time he made the rest of the meal and poured the mimosas the cornbread was ready.

Morning local paper: a woman driving on a country road watched a hawk hover and sweep ever nearer, until she feared she would hit it. Then it snatched and swept away, having captured the Mickey Mouse ornamenting her antenna. And raptors are supposed to have such sharp eyes!

Thanks for sharing that little story Normal. I guess in all fairness to the hawk, Mickey was a moving target...lol!

I've just received this from a friend ... a bird homing in on its prey.

... Eagle owl at 1000 frames per Second towards a camera.

Wow, that was a fantastic video! Thanks for sharing that Login!
I just talked to my daughter and she and her husband were just heading out the door to catch some pictures of the mother bear and her two cubs that are wandering up their street. I'm assuming they're black bears, and hoping they don't try and get too close!

Yikes! What a video. I never realized that owls have such long powerful legs, having never seen them extended like that.
Thank you for posting this.

Was the prey the cameraman's finger?

It does look like a finger but the eyes and talons seem to be homing in slightly to the left of it.

Baldur

I really think it looks like a finger too, the video must have cut off as the cameraman dove for cover.

Something bizarre just happened to me on Facebook.
For those of you not well versed in the site's intricacies let me explain that it will suggest people that you might know so you can connect with them on their platform.
This morning matthew was suggested.
How in the world did the program decide that matthew and I know each other? I never mentioned ThinkDraw there and I do not believe we have any mutual friends at that site.
Life is so strange (destination unknown).

Login, that video - mesmerizing! Thanks for sharing! I liked that there was no music. Sometimes music enhances but other times, not. With this video, I swear it had it's OWN music ... if that makes any sense. : )

Baldur, I know zip about Facebook, however have heard things about how they know which 'friends' to suggest. Is it true? No idea but here's info about a lawsuit conerning this.

Now that was interesting marius, and could be related to what they did with me. I just don't understand the 'leap' in logic it took for them to assume a link between him and I.
matthew and I have not chatted with each other anywhere but here since before my becoming a facebook member. On their site he uses his full name, and Baldur has his fictitious last name appended there as well. Here neither of us uses our surnames. So there really is no way of patching Baldur and matthew together with 'Baldur Bear' and 'T. matthew Hong'. If that makes any sense.
Assuming they used a cookie to learn that I frequent ThinkDraw why are they suggesting only matthew from this site?
There must be a couple dozen people that use both sites just among those who comment here on Channel Baldur.
