Here is a fascinating video.
The music is 'Trance', I had to turn off the volume almost immediately.
Watching the school of small fish was great fun.
The real amazement starts about 2 minutes in.
The birds start diving into the water.
Seeing them interact with the sea life was wonderful.
I imagined that they must be able to swim underwater to catch fish,
but never saw how it was done before.

Baldur has been duped!.
I just complimented a picture by someone I do not know.
Then I went to playback to see how she did it.
It turns out it was a mostly unaltered background from 'Lunartic'.
Sigh, I was amazed by the effect she got.
I should learn more about these newer categories.

That was a neat video Baldur. I'm quite sure it must have been at least 2 separate occasions as there seemed to sometimes be dolphins feeding and other times sharks. I know that sharks usually avoid dolphins and noticed that they were never both in the camera frame at the same time. I do know that when fish school tightly together in a ball like that to try to avoid predators it's called (appropriatly) a bait ball.
Very cool to see the birds diving and swimming underwater.

I was just wondering if anyone has news from marius. I know she lives in
Missouri and probably is safe and sound and not anywhere near those horrific tornados. The destruction is unbelievable, my heart goes out to those poor people in Joplin.

I haven't heard from her (though we do e-mail frequently) but I do know that her town is a fair distance away from Joplin so I believe they were not directly affected by the tornado. I did send her an e-mail with my hopes that her and her family were all safe and sound.

How sweet you are to wonder about us and wish us well. We are all fine. And, Dragon is correct; Joplin is a long ways from where we live. However, there was tornadic activity all over the mid parts of the country today and wouldn’t you know - spouse was at work when the sirens went off. That meant marius had to find, catch and secure two wily felines ... by herself. No time to get the cat carriers either because the TV weather folks said, “Take cover NOW!”

Suffice it to say marius was successful in getting cats and herself into the basement pantry, this in spite of the fact that Puck was hissing and growling like one possessed. We were down there just over an hour but poor Puck! It was bad enough going to the vet yesterday but adding the basement confinement today must have taken him to the very edge! When the sirens turned off and we all came upstairs, he wouldn’t come near me for the next four hours.

If this is the worst of worries during tornado season, I’m pretty blessed. : ) Hope everyone else in tornado alley (and beyond) stays safe, dry and warm.

For Heaven’s sake – something is wrong with the margins in Channel Baldur. And, I just can’t leave it like that ... rather like
singing “do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti ... " and stopping on ‘ti.’ Shouldn’t be done.
So, posting again. If anything, might move us to a new page where margins are once again in place.

Glad to hear marius and family are well (despite poor Puck's ire). Recently read a story about a young boy (11 yr I think) who was home alone when the tornado warning hit. His mom called him from work (she couldn't get home) and told him to go to the laundry room, which was the only room in the house with no windows, they had no basement. Well he went right away but the house started shaking and he did the only thing he could think of, he climbed into the dryer. Turns out he was one smart kid because the rest of the house collapsed including the laundry room but he was safe and sound (if a little cramped) in the dryer. Whew!

One of our small communities in Alberta has recently been ravaged by wildfires. These happened during a time when the winds were blowing at 100 km/hr and the residents of the town (Slave Lake) were given 5 minutes to get in the car and go. I can't imagine, it would take us at least that long to get the cats wrangled, as marius said, that's never an east task, especially when everyone is stressed.
