Well Boughbreak is getting bombarded by snow again today, another 8" has fallen overnight.
It seems to be tapering off finally.
This afternoon Baldur will be shoveling it all off the front stairs.

Don't you sometimes wish you could just tilt the stairs sideways and let it all slide off?

(Why doesn't someone invent a retractable hydraulic cover like that?)

In my experience snow NEVER slides off anything. It melts just enough for the water to freeze and create a bond with the undersurface on a molecular level.

Baldur should mention that today is the anniversary of the opening of the wonderfully named 'Diet of Worms'.
While it makes logically sense in German you would think it would be given a different name in English.

Okay, here is a different perspective. Now must look in to "Diet of Worms."

Ahhhh, I remember now. Makes me recall history lessons in the days of my youth at a Catholic school, strictly memorization of dates and names! And all the people we learned about were either perfect or the opposite and that greatly confused marius. The result was an *intense* dislike of learning about dead people and times gone by. The result of THAT, was an appalling lack of historical knowledge and an inability to grasp historical references. That changed in college, but still there were huge gaps.

Indeed, it was quite a shock to see the 1993 movie, "Luther" with Joseph Fiennes and discover something that was not taught in Catholic schools! Loved that movie. Made me read more about Martin Luther. Enjoyed that too. Thanks for the reference, Baldur. : )

I had never heard of the Diet of Worms before. I'm glad I looked it up, otherwise I would have thought it was a really awful weight loss regime.

Hope this link works, I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this. All I could do was imagine doing this to my cat Oscar.

Isn't it strange how that happens? Something tickles the funny bone and then later, it doesn't. I remember one late night I could not sleep and after reading for several hours, turned on the TV.

Romeo and Juliet was playing, the 1968 (or thereabouts) version. Now, marius had not had partaken of any mind-altering substances (just to be clear about that) ... and ... she laughed her whole way through most of the movie. She kept thinking, "This is no tragedy. This is high comedy!"

Maybe that movie was overy dramatic? Maybe marius had ventured into a Twilight Zone of sorts? I don't know, but I've never wanted to see that movie again. : )

It was odd but the cat video didn't come across to me as being funny either.
Strange perhaps, but nothing kicked up a chuckle.
I do wonder what was going through the cats' minds.
