My heart goes out to you Hazer and to jspi0025. I have experienced what you are going through many times, (mother, brother, niece, neighbor). It is extremely difficult and truly a test of the human spirit. Don't forget to take care of yourself, and I wish for courage and strength for you both. |

What a comfort your words are. Thanks to all of you and I hope I can encourage you by sharing how powerful prayer has been in our lives. A second attempt to get a stint put in was successful. However there have been three attempts now to remove the temporary drain and each try has caused excessive internal bleeding. Turns out they have nicked his portal vein. When they try to remove the drain it bleeds and if they push it back in, the bleeding stops. For now the bleeding has stopped but he will have to wait until Monday before they can go in again and try to repair the vein and then perhaps they will be able to get the drain out. Once that is done and he is healed up he will be able to resume chemo. |

Asking for a special prayer today that my husband's surgery will be successful. This will be the fourth attempt to remove the drain without him bleeding to death. |

Surgery was put on hold yesterday and so we're not sure when it will be done. Thank you for your prayers. We had a very peaceful day yesterday while we waited for the CT scan results that never came. Today I might stay at home until I find out if he is actually having the surgery. It is pouring rain outside. |

Surgery is too risky, the drain must stay in place. Chemo is now out of the question as well and so this morning I will bring my husband home from the hospital. I will set up home care both here in Alberta and in Saskatchewan too if possible, so that we can go and spend the remainder of his days at the acreage. We are both filled with the peace that only God can give. I don't know when I will be back to TD so I will say good bye and God bless you all. You have been a wonderful comfort with your prayers and kind comments. |
