Baldur

Well that was rather provocative.
I enjoyed it

I enjoyed that too, if that doesn't get people out to vote I don't know what will!

Normal

Wow, that was fun, Indigo. Only greeting I got at Heathrow was the official who proclaimed that there could be no such birthplace as "Normal!" (Albeit with a British twinkle.)

For Harry Potter fans, two articles in my paper this morning. Local campus quad was the scene of a quidditch game (ground-bound, however) among students who've grown up with the Hogwarts crew.
Try www.pantagraph.com.
Another story by AP (search under them?) had an AP writer use the questions of two 11-yr-old Potter fans from Olcott, NY, USA, talking to Radcliffe, Watson and Grint, as well as Tom Felton, who plays the despicable Draco Malfoy.

Hazer

Thanks for sharing that, indigo! Makes me want to zip right down to the Calgary Airport and try it out. . . but then remembering the "eye rolling" my kids did when I used to try sing to them, I think I'll just go visit hubby and quietly sing "You are so Beautiful to Me". After all he's a "captive audience". I'll let you know how it goes. . .lol!

polenta

Sensational welcome if you are a passenger after a tiring flight. I can imagine the lots of work included in the rehearsals of this magnificent "orchestra" and chorus, the "spontaneous" choreography and the mise en scene. Thanks Indigo. SMILE, SMILE, SMILE

Ooh indigo AND polenta-- BOTH of these are pure joy!
(How can that make my eyes rainy?? pffff.......... well I'm laughing anyway)

The airport ...I wonder if that's been produced by the same group that did the shopping mall one a short while back?

And no, I don't think the voting one's too daring... it's a brilliant introduction to a perfect catch-phrase.

OMG~HOW DO THEY DO THAT! http://www.wimp.com/peopleawesome/

Baldur

That was astonishing. It took me several replays to see what was going on in some of those clips.
Several of the stunts beg the question 'Are these people crazy?'

My God that clip called People ar Awesome was well named! I'm gonna have to send that to my fiance, he'll love it.

This is a home video, taken with a very bad quality cellphone. The SINGER IS 88 YEARS OLD!!! My husband accompanies him on the piano. It's a friendly get together having some snacks and drinks so the atmosphere is very relaxed and the singing spontaneous. Don't expect anything very artistic.

8057. 20 Nov 2010 08:19

polenta

The first 30 or 40 seconds are pure talking. The singing is after that.

Wow, get busy for a few days and goodness ... what entertainments have been offered on Channel Baldur! Marius enjoyed every single one of them from the dirty car art to the athletic feats and Sean - who likes to dance.

Now, Polenta, your home video really brought a smile. That gentleman has a nice, rich voice and your husband is quite talented at the piano too! Thanks for sharing.

And, Lynnspotter, I found the "we are family" link particularly moving because it makes sense ... and, it's so loving.

Thanks everyone. : )

Your Age By Chocolate Maths

This is pretty neat and takes less than a minute ... I got it in an email so the photos of chocolates are missing but am sure everyone here can imagine their favorites.

Do you have a paper and a pencil? Okay, here we go.
1. Pick the number of times a week that you like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10).
2. Multiply this number by 2.
3. Add 5.
4. Multiply that sum by 50.
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1760. If you haven't, add 1759.
6. Now subtract the four digit year in which you were born.
7. You should have a three digit number as your answer.
8. The first digit is your original number, how many times a week you'd like to have chocolate.
9. The second two digits are your age. (Oh yes they are!)

Now, according to the email, 2010 is the only year this will work. Since marius is not a math person she cannot vouch for the truth of that statement. : )
