I think we all deserve cake now.
After another 299 comments we can discuss the Champagne and the chocolate dipped strawberries.

We should all celebrate the minor triumphs in life.

I have noticed several people using long words and goining 'points'. I obviously missed how this came about but I would like to know how to qualify. Are points awarded for any word bigger than 'marmalade'?

-o +a ... and do we have to spell them correctly?

704. 21 Jun 2009 10:12

Baldur

Login, I have been rewarding myself for improving my vocabulary for some time now, a few others have since followed suit (probably mockingly an a good natured manner).
The word need not be as long as 'marmalade', but it must be a word not seen often in daily usage.
It also must be spelled correctly and used properly.

Though I generally award myself 10 points per occasion the scores are indeed arbitrary.

'Arbitrary' would itself be a good word for extra points but one can only get points for a word the first time you use it and Baldur took those credits long ago

Thanks for the explanation, Baldur. ( ... goes away muttering "doesn't have to be bigger than marmalade, not often used, first time used ...")

(eyeing Dragon's post... yearning to know if it was really deleted --or typed to look that way originally!!!!!)

Qsilv, it was deleted.
There was a joke there that some may have deemed in questionable taste.
I'm glad that I copied it and sent it along to friends before it vanished.

Baldur

matthew, you do not capitalize it yourself...
Besides which I for one never believed it was your given name.
Baldur's given name is not Baldur, but rather a name that is somewhat commonplace .
For those interested in puzzles Baldur's surname is rather difficult and of Lithuanian origins. If you took the letters and ordered them alphabetically you would have: AACIKNRSSTZ.
Talk about a tongue twister.
I believe in web-anonimity so I shan't (+10 points for Baldur) confirm if any of you actually guess the correct spelling of my surname.

Asszitcrank is NOT it; neither is is Ranckasszit

Ah, Baldur, you believe in web-anonimity, so you believe in me! I'm touched. I feel like peter pan, or was it tinkerbell? Anyway, that makes me either a boy who never grows up, or a fairy. I'll settle for that!

Baldur made 2 versions of Shepherd's Pie for dinner; one being vegetarian.
That was a good choice for a cold, damp, rainy day.

That settles it, IamAnonymous is Michael Jackson.
The case is solved.
