Robert has no interest in this at all.
Thankfully there were nice long full tablecloths, Baldur had no fear of accidental immodesty.

This is the Steampunk social network I an in at the moment:

There are many others.

I like the term "accidental immodesty" much better than the term "wardrobe malfunction". It just sounds much nicer.

Thanks for my intro to Steampunk! Knew a chap in college who was totally into the 19th C. and a steam engine fanatic. Later had a job at the Smithsonian, using his expertise. I picture Baldur driving an ancient car to the event, wearing his goggles, jacket and kilt. Surely the cucumber sandwiches had a proper wicket picnic basket and linen towels.

Baldur

The cucumber sandwiches were on a Victorian plate which was nestled on a folded linen tablecloth in a wicker basket

Just dropping in to say, marius WILL read and catch up in here. (Walks away smiling at visual of cucumber sandwiches ... nestled ... linen ... basket. Soothing, nice aroma too - very!)

It was yet another dreary rainy day in Primrose. April can be like that.
'Wet Spring days bring the Pilgrims' as the old saying goes.
Tomorrow will be cold but will at least start out dry enough for yardwork.
I still have at least a couple more days of cleanup in my neighbor's yard before it's officially done.

Buenos Noches everyone.
Auntie B just got back home from spending a week in Seville.
The whole trip was rather unexpected, but those are the best type.
An old friend of mine owns an estate there. When Carlo called out of the blue last week and invited me, I thought 'Why not?'
Martha came along with me, which turned out rather well. Her Spanish is better than mine.

Carlo's home has a huge central courtyard in the Moorish style; it is rather reminiscent of the Alhambra.
There is a delightful fountain smack in the center, but Auntie must confess that hearing that splashing water always makes her feel the need to run to el salon de bano.

My suite there was absolutely beautiful. It was shady and cool with a luxurious marble and tile bath.
Carlo and Auntie went out each night to dine in town and then to dance until dawn in the nightclubs.
Seville is a loverly place.

Luckily the local airport was one of the few not really immobilzed by the airborne ash that has been spewing out of that Icelandic volcano.
Still that was a major topic of conversation.
Auntie B might have flown to Paris for a week or so before heading home, but understands that many flights were cancelled to and from that airport.

Baldur

Auntie B, you could at least have told me you were leaving.
Aren't you concerned that others might worry when you vanish like that?

6992. 27 Apr 2010 18:29

AuntieB

Baldur, I did mail you a postcard; and look, I brought you back a jar of marmalade.

6993. 27 Apr 2010 18:30

AuntieB

Now excuse me, all the jetting around the world has gotten me a bit sleepy.
Have a grand evening everyone

6994. 27 Apr 2010 18:31

Baldur

Heavens.
At least she did bring me the marmalade.
That will be wonderful on my English muffins tomorrow morning for breakfast.

6995. 27 Apr 2010 18:32

Dragon

Mmm, Spanish marmalde on English muffins. Sounds good to me.

Oh, and welcome back Auntie B. Sounds like Martha might be becoming a permanent employee! Well, she really has got a great deal of the attributes you were looking for (everything except the whole being a sexy young man anyway.)

English muffins and marmalade make me think of scones, which oddly were not served at this weekend's Steampunk High Tea.
I can hardly complain. It was a wonderful event.
Baldur finally got to meet Major Salisbury who is practically a neighbor. He resides in the nearby town of Pascoag.
In fact everyone that I met there was quite pleasant.

I've met Martha myself Dragon, she is quite pleasant and seems very capable. Diego was not as wonderful as he seems to have been depicted on this site.
He was indeed handsome, muscular, a good cook, a great household manager, an excellent dancer and could do some of the tailoring for Auntie B, but surely that is not everything.

Martha does a better job of polishing the silver and her Welsh Rarebit really is top notch.
She is also a natural at tending houseplants, having the greenest thumb I've ever seen.

You had me at Welsh Rarebit, though I must admit I've never tried it!
