Adored Baldur's plelthora of "p" words to describe egg-hiding places, and of course you already know ... the youtube! Dragon's egg-hiding story also a hoot, enjoyed it very much!

My poor spouse gets nothing for Easter but marius gave Dad some yellow peeps. He unwrapped, blinked and said, "I used to LOVE these." Dad is on a diet (at 87 ... why?) but after a while he carefully opens the peeps, bites one and says, "OH MY! These ARE good."

marius does not care for marshmallows unless disguised in rice-krispy treats. Peeps are lost on her.

For another extra special musical interlude, someone has brilliantly overdubbed 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'

Baldur

It's Easter morning and Baldur made a large platter of French Toast for the Denizens (+4) of Boughbreak's breakfast
It was flavoured with Vanilla, Vietnamese Cinnamon and Tangering extract.
Of course we used actual Maple syrup as is our wont here.

Despite it being an oh so serious holiday Baldur hopes to work on his stone retaining wall for the up and coming South terrace.
The weather is a mesmerizing 70 degrees F and it is perfectly sunny.

I may have mentioned in passing that Baldur also belongs to a steampunk themed chat group.
Yesterday an invitation arrived for a Victorian Tea Party in nearby Norwich, Connecticut.

Baldur is most excited about having to bring his own cup & saucer, is there a better way to show off my Spode?
Of course I will also bring a linen napkin and sterling teaspoon for my own use.

What is most odd was the lack of any indication as to what day this event will occur.
Baldur promptly dispatched an inquiry to M**********

Baldur was just reading that in Norway, which celebrates Easter for a whole week, reading about and solving murder mysteries is a major holiday tradition.
Even milk cartons get printed with murder mysteries on their backsides for the week.http://goscandinavia.about.com/od/annualeventstraditions/qt/easterinnorway.htm

LOL at the Literal Bonnie Tyler video. Even without the literal translation that video was pretty messed up.

Hope you enjoy your Steampunk Tea Party. Do you have any inventions, poetry or bawdy songs you might be taking along? Perhaps some of the Dr.Bear saga would fit, hehehe.

Your invitation, asking you to bring your own cup and saucer, reminds me of an invitation I once had "... to a garden party. Bring your own fork and spade".

Happy Easter everyone, or Pleasant Passover if that is the celebration of choice in your home.
Splendid Spring if you celebrate neither.

Auntie B can barely navigate around her home for all the flowers that have been delivered in the past couple days. These Spring flowers certainly are very heady. Between the lilies and hyacinths I feel dizzy at times.
Luckily the weather is warm enough that I've flung all the French doors wide open.
A holiday doesn't go by that I am not inundated in flowers, but this Easter seems a bit more overblown than others.
Fear not there are plenty of chocolate bunnies and truffle eggs also heaped about here.

Martha has a sticky glazed ham baking, she prepared those little pink skinned potatoes with butter and chopped chives as well as fresh asparagus.
I must say my two-timing previous houseboy's dinner rolls were not as fluffy as Martha's.

There is also a petite but perfect pineapple cheesecake for later on.

Baldur, your invitation sounds SO FUN! If the invite is that wonderful, surely the actual event will be a grand time! Can't wait to hear about it.

AuntieB ... so glad Martha is working out. I do miss Diego, but if his dinner rolls were not as fluffy as Martha's you did well to dismiss him.

And now ... time for a Missouri Moment. My sister attended the 150th anniversay celebration of the Pony Express this weekend. I did not know the riders had to be so tiny in size, less than 125 pounds! And did not see this fact mentioned, but the advertisement 150 years ago said the Pony Express preferred to hire orphans.

Here's a link to more info from my sis: scroll down for fun facts.

I know technically it's not Easter anymore but only by a few minutes so I'm offering up a little humour for everyone. This is one of a series of ads called Release the Goo though I believe they may also be know as The Cadbury Egg Suicides. Anyway, this is my favorite but there are quite a few.

I'm just a bit curious here.
Does the save draft function work for any of you?
It used to work for me, but I have a partial drawing saved in 'Candy' since before Christmas and it refuses to reload no matter how many times I've tried.
Baldur has written Rachel and asked for her to delete it, as well as the partial image I did as a test today in beads.
I know Baldur is technologically challenged but this week it seems worse than ever.
Even 'Dancing with the Stars' on television was acting up for me.
It was coming through my set like stop action photography.
The other channels worked fine, just what I want to see doesn't come through properly.

Maybe you should have your cable lines checked. They can do it over the phone now. It happened to me.

6896. 6 Apr 2010 09:16

Normal

Baldur, here in the heart of Illinois, DANCING WITH THE STARS was equally messed up, in precisely the manner you describe. This leads me to believe that ABC network was the source, so don't blame your cable people. (Plenty of other stuff to blame them for, however!)

Hey, bird lovers, here's a cool site where they set up a webcam in an owlbox. The owl hatched at least 3 eggs. I just saw her bring some kind of rodent to the nest to feed the babies! It's a fun site.

That is cool Robin, I have a couple really great Falcon cam sites but there's no falcons yet at them. I'm hoping to be able to follow them again. 2 years ago there was quite a tragedy at the one in Winnipeg. The nest was on a wide corner ledge of a building. They had a terrible couple of days of rain. One morning it just poured down and the ledge filled with water, despite the best efforts of the Winnipeg Fire Dept who were lowered down from the roof to try to save them the chicks all drowned. Last year the same pair of falcons choose a better ledge and we were able to watch them go from little fluffy blobs right up til they were flying on their own. It was pretty amazing.
It finally really feels like spring for me, I just saw my first robin of the year yesterday. It just ain't spring without them.
