Qsilv

Hazer, I vividly remember visiting my friend's husband in hospital, and he certainly did look like a totally different person --a gaunt, fragile one! Believe me, he went back to being ...er.. well not exactly beefy anymore, but his full healthy cheerful self... and I do so hope the same for your husband. (smiles)

Hazer

Thanks for that Qsilv. A good reminder to keep looking ahead and not get bogged down on the rough road we're on now.

A most difficult time for our dear Kat. I pray that she has a strong and supportive group of family and friends to love and care for her.

Arty's brother died on the same day as katpedro's husband. This is a sad time for both of them and their families and my thoughts go out to them.

I have just found out about Katpedro's loss and Arty's loss. It's so sad that this happened. I hope you get enough love and tenderness from family and friends. Be sure our TD community is with you in these difficult moments.

Hazer

My husband is very hopeful that he will be able to come home this week. I hope he isn't rushing it even though I would love to have him at home. He is not able to handle food very well yet and that is one thing that the doctor wanted to see happen before sending him home. I would hate to see him have to go back into hospital once he's been home.
We have still not heard what the pathology report had to say but I would expect that he will be having chemo once he has recuperated from this surgery.
I go to the hospital every day to sit with him and to encourage him to try to eat. It is a blessing for him that he is able to relax enough to sleep while I sit with him. This hospital just seems to be extra busy and noisy but his care has been very good for which we are most thankful.

Thanks for the update, Hazer. It must be a great comfort to have you nearby each day ... so much easier for him to relax.

Don't hurry to go back home but if doctors say so, it means improvement. I feel you are much more hopeful now. Take care.

Hazer

I have been very busy since my husband got out of the hospital on the 9th of December. He had quite a bit of medication to take for the first week he was home, including some chemotherapy. We had to schedule medication, small amounts of food and protein drinks every couple of hours between 6 am and midnight.
He is slowly improving, and getting his appetite back, but has problems digesting certain foods so he may need some digestive enzymes for awhile until he has healed completely inside.
We will have his follow up appointment with the surgeon in mid January and will find out what the pathology report said.
We trust and pray that he will need no further treatment.

Hazer

Christmas Greetings to all my TD friends! I am happy to say that today has been a turning point in my husbands recovery. We got his doctor to prescribe some digestive enzymes and they have made a big difference. This evening hubby was able to eat a fairly decent meal with no discomfort afterward. Now I'm sure he will be able to gain some weight back. This is such a relief!
