Baldur

Oddly enough that was the wrong word. Webster's New World Compact School and Office Dictionary sats that she 'sashayed' into the terminal.
That just does not look correct.

no doubt she does have a few tiny sachet bags inside her luggage, tho...

as for the difference 'tween hockey dudes and figure skaters, and that issue of "sensitivity"... happens Q knows a few figure skaters of the seriously competitive sort, and thinks there's not much. Let's not confuse being personally fragile with empathy.

Remembering that she recently flew to Carnevale in Venice with nothing more than a 'carry on' bag it is quite odd how Auntie B packed for today's excursion.
This was more remiiniscent of how a starlet would travel in the Silver Screen Era.
The Porters, for indeed the first one to arrive called for backup support. They had to struggle with three huge trunks, several large unwieldy suitcases, gigantic garment bags, dozens of har carriers (those cylindrical hatboxlike things), and a large rolling rack that were all crafted of some exotic matching leather.
(Naturally her shoes and purse also matched the luggage)
Auntie B was also wearing that huge grey fox coat that Dmitri gave her and a wide brimmed hat with an outrageously huge silk poppy attached with a bejeweled hatpin.

I wonder how she will get through security with all this.

regarding figure skating I just think thge mood being set by the skaters shouldn't be undone by the commentators, it seems disrespectful.

I think I equate it to shouting at a chess match.
Obviously the skaters can't hear the commentators, but the audience who is trying to enjoy the performance can.

I agree, rather intensely (for me), and wonder if you mentioned that in your note to NBC

Yes I did, the only reply so far was an automated 'thank you for your comment '

In case auntie B is interested...I believe Mr. Don Cherry was recently widowed.

I'm sure he 's just an all round swell guy, but...

Thank you whoever invented the mute button! I use it whenever Don Cherry gets in front of the mike. Sometimes I go as far as to change channels for the duration.
Nothing personal...just not my style.

I was surprised to hear that Don Cherry was on for the olympics. He's a regular on Hockey Night in Canada up here on the CBC but all the olympic coverage was handled by CTV this year so we were spared his ridiculousness. He really is a bit of a national joke up here and he does nothing for his image with the "suits" we wears. Trust me, he does not represent the Canadian fashion sense. Very few of us wear clothing made from our grandma's upholstry.

I was sorry to hear about the unpleasant commentating on the American channels. I was very pleased with the commentary done on our channels. I especially enjoyed the commentary during the curling. I love the game but without the comments I just wouldn't have a clue what their strategy would be.

Baldur would dress like that if he could afford it, I thought it quite amazing.
I looked on google images to see different aspects of his wardrobe.
The white sports jacket with the large red poppies was my favorite, though a plaid featuring bright yellow was pretty good too.

He's got one in bright blue and green flowers or plants or something that seriously reminds me of some old lady's couch. You know the kind you'd find in the front sitting room with a platic cover and there'd be a little bowl of ribbon candy on the coffee table in front.

If we're talking about flamboyant clothing though, I must say I absolutly loved the Norweigan Curling Pants. Do you suppose they were trying to distract their opponents? I think my favorite thing from the coverage of the closing ceremonies was when CTV news woman Lisa Laflamme (who was commentating) mentioned that she'd bought a pair for a charity event but now had no idea what she was going to do with a mens size 42 long pair of Noweigan curling pants.

Baldur wears a size 42 long......

Somehow I could picture Baldur not only wearing the pants, but also curling in them.

Now THAT image deserves a TD pic! Can't one of you talented artists pull this one off??

Just a quick ho-ho based on Robin's suggestion.

Is that what the Norwegian pants look like?, I never saw them on television

Nah, I'm sure the Norwegian pants were much more stylish.
