I missed it!
Baldur was out at the big box home improvement store buying hanfrail components.
Though it looks like matthew went out of his way to advance the comment count, we are at 5000 comments nonetheless.
YeeHaaa

Hey Baldur I also have a fake aloe plant that everyone thinks is real! I got it at Pier One.
I unfortunately did not get the "green thumb" from my mother or grandmother but my house is full of plants! The best kind I think because I dont have to water them just dust them! They all pretty much look real. I have a Bonsi tree that really is my fav.
I was in the hospital recently and the department I work in sent a HUGE peace lilly plant when I returned home. Please pray for the poor thing!!!!!!lol So far its still thriving, but I've only been home for a few weeks.

Peace lilies are great because they totally wilt into a flattened mess when too dry but revive quickly again after you water them.
They seem very forgiving.
It's good to have you back here on Thinkdraw Belladonnis.

Baldur spends too much each time he goes into Pier 1 Imports so my trips there are very rare.
One great score was a clearance item from several years back, they were selling marked down fantastic faux fiddlehead fern fronds. These were barely unraveled and had a great velvetty texture.
Each is about 2 feet long, and would be much longer if uncoiled. Baldur bought dozens but gave half away to my friend Frank (of the 47 room Victorian home with wrap around porch and room for a pony).
Had I realized he was going to cut them down to short stubby lengths and stick them in a planter of dirt he would never have gotten them!
Anyway mine are in a Roseville urn and add a nice Edward Gorey touch to Chez Baldur

Happy 5000 Baldur!
I'm headed to Pier1 for christmas shopping now, if I see anything interesting I will get it for you!

Yes, Happy 5000, Baldur! Congratulations!

Thanks, matthew for the correction on the beer song contributor - Doug. That's funny your Dad didn't tell you about the shot-gun "kick" because he didn't want you to tense up. Can't imagine not being prepared for it because even though I'd been warned ... I was not prepared!

Well, given the Balduresque tendencies towards the long-windedly explicit, thank GOD it asked about things to wear on the FEET!

Congrats on 5000 Baldur. I look forward to the next 5000, I sure have enjoyed Channel Baldur so far, thank goodness for that TD glitch so long ago or we wouldn't have any decent entertainment around here

Baldur has finished installing the new handrails here at the Chez and I must say they came out well.
The mess is all cleaned up too.
It's amazing how much sawdust and plaster dust this little project created.
